I hope its a nice upgrade.

The STF-2 is a 10" sub with a 200w Amp. The RW-12d is a 12" sub with a 350w Amp. Let's see, which do I want in our Home Theater?

........................biggrin.gif

My guess, you're going want a second one.

This is such a screaming good deal but I already have plans to upgrade to another pair of subs. So, to make me feel better (scratch that audio itch), I committed to buying an Anti-Mode 8033 subwoofer room analyzer.

"Klipsch Reference RW-12d 12" Powered Subwoofer Each w/ New box". This is the description on Newegg. Just noticed it says "w/New box" and my invoice describes it as RW-12d R. I am wondering if these are refurbished.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

They are not refurbs. This is from a customer review on newegg:

Newegg has really come through with addressing the "damaged in shipping" issues with the Kilpsch packaging. The Klipsch box is now placed in a box that is about 12 inches larger in each dimension with 6" foam surrounding the original Klipsch packaging.

Although there was a small gouge in the Newegg box, the Kilipsch packaging was prisitine. There are no marks on the sub, the grill is in tact, etc...

Thanks for an awesome deal and great packaging Newegg!

Where's that embarrassed emoticon when you need it?

I can't rationalize buying a pair of subs when I plan to buy better but.........I can rationalize getting a subwoofer based room analyzer. I put it down to boys and toys as my wife won't let me bring home any strays.

"She followed me home honey, can I keep her?"

LOL

I must have got one just in time! My friend went on not long after me and they were all gone.....

I wonder if that is it for this sub?? They are now listed as "SOLD OUT" in big red letters with no auto-notify button.....

Yes, especially since I got my tracking number this morning. Reading through the reviews on newegg they used to have an awful lot of damaged
subs. Worth the money to double box them so they don't have to deal with all the returns.

Based on all I've read here, I'm going be done with it and jump off the cliff into a pair of Funk Audio, 18.0 C's. eek.gif

My hope is to get a pair at the same time as opposed to one at a time. That's why the DSPeaker Anti-Mode 8033 C. It's going be a bit of time before the Funk Audio subs are ordered as I have some bills to pay first and then I can get the subs. In the meantime, I need a new toy to keep me entertained and that's where the 8033 C comes into the picture.

Got the okay from the head account (wife) today. I'm the money manager and she's the accountant.

I'm of the mind that one does their research and then goes for the best one can afford. That would be a pair of Hsu, ULS-15's as realistically, that's what I can afford. tongue.gif

By reading what others have had to say, the mid-grade subs are good, if not excellent but the smile factor of the SubMersive and Funk subs, can't be wiped from their face. So, the plan is, get the dentist and credit card paid off and pick up a Funk, 18.0 C and if able, buy a second one at the same time and if not, later, come income tax time, get a second one. Then I'll tie the two together via a DSPeaker Anti-Mode 8033 C and be done with it and go back to being a consumer of 5.1, movie content.

Mine is here and on a truck now but FedEx only does residential deliveries Tue-Fri so I have to wait until tomorrow.

Can you go down to the FedEx office and do a pickup or is that just not a good idea?

Since it is already on the truck I would have to wait until the end of the day when he gets back and it is about a 45 minute drive. No big deal. It took a month of research and waiting for it to go on sale so another 24 hrs won't kill me.

Ya gotta love the amount of effort we put into our subwoofer purchases.

Fedex was supposed to deliver my sub today and all of a sudden an Exception showed up on the order saying my sub had been taken off the truck because of some local delivery restriction.

I called them to ask what was up. They told me that they thought my address was a business. I told them that I had waited a week and was going to wait no longer. If necessary I would go pick it up myself. A couple hours later, my sub rolled up on a Penske truck.

I'm at work now. Only a couple hours now.
