I see Epik is having a sale $399 with free shipping. I damn near bought one on the spot just to put in my bedroom setup. I wasn't even looking to buy a sub but I am a sucker for a sale. Then I see it has had amplifier issues and started looking into it's performance a little more thoroughly. Is this worth the money? or should I just pick up a Bic F-12 or something.

In other words is this sub worth $400?

or is it worth $600 and this is a steal at $400?

Thanks

That is what I was hoping. I might pick up 2 of them at $400.

Everyone seems to like the Klipsch RW-12d at Newegg for $299.

Klipsch RW-12d or Epik Legend? Hmm. Input is appreciated.

I'm keeping an eye on the responses for this thread. I have been thinking about the vtf-15h for a long time but am not sure I want to put out that money for one sub. I love the idea of duals, and at the 399 shipped price, I am having a hard time believing I can go wrong with dual Legends for my 2600 cubic foot space.

Nabu,

I had dual Legends (bought 7 months ago) The amp gets hot, no doubt about that.
So I upgraded to Dual XV-15's from Power Sound Audio. (I change subs a lot).

The HSU sub will dig deeper, but it will NOT have the mid bass of dual Legends.
I've heard it BTW. It's awesome. It will play into the teens (go lower) than the Legends.

But 2 Legends in your space and at that deal...what are you waiting for?
See my post on the last page of the Epik Legend thread. I'm not bashing HSU,
I've bought most of my subs there. IMO 2600 cu ft is not to large for dual Legends.

It is a great deal. I cannot think of any sub that can do better at this price, short of DIY.

I own a pair of Legends. My experience is proble-free. FWIW.

That's basically all I needed to hear. 2 Epik Legends coming up! 1 for my bedroom and 1 for my auxiliary media room.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Will 2 of these out perform 2 rw12d's in a 12 by 14 room? I get good output to about 25 hz with the klipsch's.

OP, I have a Legend in my bedroom and love it. After I saw this sale, I began wondering if I could fit another one in there somewhere. I probably could but don't really need to. But it is tempting. Now I'm hoping I can resist the temptation to upgrade the two subs I have in my living room. IMHO, this is a terrific deal.
