I have a dedicated home theater room that is 14 x 18 with 8ft slopes up to a 10 ft ceiling, so around 2520 cu. ft. I am currently using an older Velodyne HGS-10b6 series manufactured in 1998, can't believe it is that old I have never been that happy with the Velodyne in this room feeling like I just don't have the punch I need and it is getting older now.

I am looking for modestly priced replacement and am considering the above models, and would like opinions on whether they would be an upgrade to the Velodyne. I understand the concerns with Epik support so don't factor that in to your opinions. What would be my most bang for the buck subwoofer for this room, primarily for movies but also consider this a critical music listening room on some occasions.

Trying to make a decision since prices are currently discounted.

Thank in advance!

The Legend on sale now is going to be the most bang for the buck. As you mentioned, the downside is Epik is a very small company that's probably swamped right now with their sale.

Given the information in this review, I'm not sure how much of an improvement over the Velodyne either the Legend or the VTF2 would be.

It depends on your budget. If you're looking at under $500, probably not.

From $500 up to $1K, there are a number of options, including:
- PSA XV-15 ($799, shipped)
- Dual SVS PB-1000 ($499/ea., shipped, w/ free return shipping if you buy before the end of Nov.)
- Epik Empire ($799 + shipping)
- HSU VTF-3 MK4 ($649 + shipping) or VTF-15H ($879 + shipping)
