After alot of hoping and waiting, Finally I am in for one. The buzz for this sub is soooo strong I thought they would be OOS as soon as the sale was listed. Cant wait!
Freaking A, this is EXACTLY what I figured would happen. I'm calling Newegg and see if they will adjust my price, I just completed my order yesterday for 3 subs at $349.99 each, and today they are back at $299.99 each.

The only problem is I ordered at their Ebay store and not Newegg.com. On their Ebay store the price is $499.99 (no promo code). However the item says free returns if unopened. So I emailed them to ask if they'd adjust my price to the current Newegg.com price of $299.99 each. I'd rather do that then return these when I receive them for a full refund, and buy 3 more from their regular Newegg.com site. They'd be saving a ton of money in return shipping, so you'd figure they'd rather do that as well, but we'll see what they say.
If "nice and persistent" doesn't work, tell them you'll refuse delivery, they'll have to pay for return shipping and you'll expect a full refund as a reward for their stubbornness.
And if that doesn't work, then there's the PITA price matching with the credit card company.
Sorry to read that it happened the very next day. That's a roaster.

Good point, I never thought of refusing delivery. They should take care of it as it will save them $, however if that doesn't appear to be going anywhere then I'll let them know that I could always refuse delivery. Either that, or their listing says full refund (no restocking fee) in 30 days if unopened. Either way they'd have to pay shipping both ways for nothing, just to turn around and put them back on a truck to ship a 3rd time once I bought at their website.
Funny, I just got off the phone and they said to do exactly what you recommended: Refuse delivery and re-order from Newegg.com for the lower price. This was Newegg.com customer service, he said since the order was through their Ebay portal, he wasn't able to issue any credit even if he wanted to. He said that the Ebay store customer service also wouldn't be able to issue any credit.
So while he admitted it would be more expensive for them this way, that is what he said to do. I understand why they have policies and procedures in place, but in this specific instance they seem to circumvent common sense.

I'm a firm believer in the principal that life is easy. The requirement, the individual one is dealing with (eBay Newegg), has to have the same attitude. At this point, if you're able, I'd take a flyer, buy a second sub at the lower price from Newegg, refuse delivery on sub ordered first from eBay Newegg or keep both and apply for the credit card price matching as now you'll have pricing proof.
I'm curious just how many subs do most people really "need" for most applications (excluding audiophile)? For me while it would probably be nice to have 4 subs, I've usually only had 1 and that seemed like more then enough. Now I'm upgrading to 2. Wouldn't 2 of a relatively powerful sub like the RW-12D be more then enough for most people for general home theater / TV / Game use?
Wondering if I'd really "NEED" more then 2, or if 4 would be more of a luxury rather then a necessity and 2 should suffice? Right now I just have 1 x 15" Definitive Technology PF15TL+ in a living room that is roughly 14 x 14 however isn't closed off, so my whole main floor is basically open, and that seems to be plenty good for my needs. Shouldn't 2 x 12" RW-12D's be plenty? Just wondering if getting more then 2 would be considered overkill by most people. Most of my friends now would probably say that having 2 alone is overkill lol.

2 will be fine. I have two and in my room the closet doors are rattling against their door frames on the low stuff. I think you will be more than happy with 2

Who "needs" a sub? What does being an audiophool have to do with it ?
As to whether an RW12D is relatively powerful...look at the charts at www.data-bass.com for some powerful subs.
Personally I have 3 subs in my living room (large room, and somewhat open to a stairwell, and when sliding doors are open, open to even more), an Epik Empire (dual opposed 15" drivers) and two Infinity PSW310's (10" drivers each with two 10" passive radiators). I almost bought another Empire used but my wallet screamed no due to excessive car/medical/xmas expenses, though. My RW12D is in the bedroom.
The majority of my "needs" are influenced by my "wants".
I want chest pounding bass to immerse me in a movie. I want my sub to breathe for me. I want a car door on Hot Fuzz to sound like I'm storming the beach of Normandy from my living room.
But I need a sub that can play a little deeper. I need something to dig to about 24Hz, or perhaps 18Hz(it's only costs a bit more right?). Need more output. But I don't want to waste money upgrading in the future again, so I need to just buy the sub I want now, rather than buy stepping stones. I need to buy an HSU VTF-15. No! I need to save money and go DIY!
So now, I need to build a quad 18" setup to complete my system.
That's literally how my mind worked the last few weeks.
That may not be a bad idea. As just yesterday I was reading up on orbit shifters.
If only I didn't live in an apartment complex.
