How does this compare to a Rythmic FV15? Granted the FV15 costs 4x this one...

I was thinking of selling my sub so I could get a SVS, HSU, Rythmic or Power Sound, but now I may just order a 2nd Klipsch. Decisions, decisions!

Two is better than one; it eliminates any room nulls created by having one source.

Obviously, two better subs is better than two lesser subs, but, depending on your room, finances, and expectations, I don't see how you could go wrong with two of these.

I'm in CA.

I always say go for the best you can afford but don't paint yourself into a corner and not be able to get a 2nd sub. Nothing shabby about dual RW-12d subs. Most people would be happier than a pig in mud with those.

Depends on how long you want to wait to get a better sub than the Klipsch and a 2nd one after that. That's going to take some serious coin. On a side note, I just pulled the trigger on a RW-12d for my son's birthday.

It will simply kill the old Cerwin Vega sub I gave him a couple of years ago. If he wants a 2nd one he'll just have to get it himself.

My father and I got my son the RW-10d a year ago for his birthday. It is in his bedroom at my ex's house. He is in middle school now. I am sure she will hate me for that by the end of high school biggrin.gif

LOL thanks. My dad isn't really into technology and surround sound stuff. He's more of an old school, practical, it makes sense kind of man! Until he comes over our house and he's like "Damn that sounds good!" Needless to say, I ended up building a 5.1 system for his house....but he got stingy and didn't get a good sub.

Just when I was starting to think you'd never get one. Congrats! Let just hope there are no port tube or LCD screen issues. The port tube is no big deal but the LCD is another story of course.

I wouldn't mind a threesome but not with subs.

I'm good with the port tube thing as that's an easy fix. As to the LCD, yes, that's another story as one needs to supply a remote control to operate the LCD functions. confused.gif What's with that?

I have a super, wonderful frequency graph, but I have a terrible suckout at 80Hz and my hopes and dreams are, this subwoofer is going fill the suckout in and we're going get some really fine mid-bass slam out of the deal. If we get some really good mid-bass slam out of the deal, the wife will forgive me for the expense. tongue.gif

(she secretly likes mid-bass slam)

You don't NEED a remote. There are actual buttons that actually work. wink.gif

Once it's set (assuming the auto-standby mode works, if such things concern you), it's a set-and-forget item, like any other speaker.

And where does newegg charge (I'm sorry, "collect") tax besides NJ?

For the price of a Harmony One can't you nearly get another RW-12d at it's current price? I guess it would be pretty hard to get off our lazy butts and push a few buttons. I remember when I was a kid I was the remote for my parents.

Of course, I could just ask newegg:

Newegg.com charges sales tax on orders shipping to California, New Jersey and Tennessee only.
