F12 dimensions 17.5Lx15Wx16.5H. RW 20Lx15 Wx18H.
I have both and the RW is definitely a significant step up. If you can afford it then get the RW and sell the F12 when you get a chance.
Or, even better, if you can afford it get the RW and use them both. Thats what I did and would be the best bang for your buck.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

Based on published manufacture specifications and owning many Klipsch speakers and subwoofers, I'm going go with "no" regarding the question, is it worth it?

If I were to make a choice between the RW12d and the F12, definitely, I'd go with the RW-12D but if one already has an F12, I'd want to step up to a Rythmik, LV12R or a SVS, PC12-NSD or a PSA, XS15 or XV15. This would constitute a meaningful step up over the RW-12d.

My super duper wife had a talk with me and started I can order the PSA-XV30 as long as all the bills and credit cards are paid off in full. So, I will be working OT and claiming exempt for a few months smile.gif

You can always detail out the exterior of her car and let guilt speed up the process. rolleyes.gif

(currently going through the learning curve of detailing out the exterior of my wife's car)

Getting the RW and keeping the F12 would also be meaningful and much easier on the pocketbook.

Received mine yesterday and after setup and YPAO it rocks compared to the old JBL 8" 150w it replaced. Very happy so far although I intend to play with positioning.

Bought it for $299 w/free ground shipping which seemed to take FOREVER! Purchased on 4/15, shipped from Edison NJ on the 16th and received at my home in Washington state on the 23rd. Double boxed with fist sized hole in outer box extending thru inner box but no damage apparent. Front grill posts are fine but the port tube in somewhat loose and will receive the fix although I'm not hearing any problem noise emanating from it.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm really happy with the results!

As far as speakers, I am still debating between infinity, kef focal chorus and a few more. I wan to set it up the first time and get it right.

The room is 22X19 and opens to the kitchen. I am attaching the pic of the layout so that you can see where I plan to put it as I have to tell the builder the location for pre-wire.

If you decide now the rw12d is the right sub for you, then today is the time to get it. It regularly goes on sale for $300, but the current price of $280 doesn't happen as often.

IMO, yes. It's a very good deal. And if getting it now means that you can only buy mains right away (and CC + surround speakers later) or mains + a CC speaker right away (and surrounds later), it's still worth it.
Quote:

If you're able to do that, you're a better man that I am (and probably than many people on this site are). wink.gif

Upgrade-itis is very common here: You think you've got it all set up right...and then you realize that the speakers sound a bit harsh, or the sub isn't giving you quite the "slam" you want, et cetera. cool.gif

(FWIW, I've been through three different pairs of mains, seven different CC speakers, five different pairs of surrounds and four different subs. And, for the short time I was running 7.1, two different pairs of side-surround speakers. But I finally got it right! biggrin.gif )

I'd pre-wire for the possibility of putting a sub at the front as well.

Got my new RW-12D. DOuble boxed with huge hole in outside box. Inside box okay.

Port tube was detached. Easy to apply glue and pop back on though.

Liked it so much I ordered another !

Is there anyone located in Oklahoma City? I'd like to give this thing a listen. Might go with 2 on either side of my tv stand (inside of my e55ti's).

Hey guys, quick question. I'm in the middle of nowhere in Ontario, Canada, so my ability to get stuff without paying out the hoop for shipping, is lacking.
I've got 2 rw12ds currently. The last one ended up being around $480cad(470usd). After tax/shipping from some ebay seller.
My question is how do you think a sw115 would work with these 2. Futureshop in Canada has them on for 649 right now. Or should I just try and get another 12d cheap? I'm a klipsch guy, (rf83,rc64, old rf82 in the back), that's why I'm looking at klipsch subs.
The room is 32x22 kinda divided into 2 sitting areas. Theatre uses about 20x22.
Thanks

x2 649.00 is a good price for a 15" 400watt sub. although he might want to shop around a bit more. Jim Cutter claims he has a line on 2 sw115's for 950.00.

I think he's asking if he can add the SW115 to the two existing RW12ds. There is always the caveat of mixing more capable and less capable subs, as you're still limited to an extent by the lesser sub (subs in this case), depends a bit on integration and bass management setup. I think it can work, but selling the RW12ds and going with 2xSW115s might be a better way to go (or adding two SW115s wink.gif ).

That's what I did. Based on NewEggs track record it shouldn't be long of a wait. Might not be $279, but the $299 offering seems pretty common (and frequent). Klipsch either has a warehouse of old stock, or they're still making new ones exclusively for NewEgg.

Hmm... the Klipsch has IR input and the S4 has an IR Blaster... I might try to make a code if I can understand how to blast IR from the phone and what code the Klipsch uses, after I finish up some school projects...

I never though about using the IR since I've got it set up where it works well for both music and movies smile.gif.

Look back in this thread (it may have been the other Klipsch RW12d thread, too) where someone linked to the codes found on the Harmony (Logitech) site (it's in the Harmony remote database so if you have a Harmony it's very easy to control the sub).
