So...is now a good time to put these up for say.....$375/ea? lol

Seeing the recent RTA measurements, etc I've decided that I'd like to recalibrate and take some measurements (every 5hz or so) and put them into an excel file and make my own RTA graph. I'd like to see what my in-room response looks like and what dB's I'm getting.

That's what REW is for.

Yeah I know about REW, but don't you have to use a calibrated mic (which costs money) and cables (which costs money). Just trying to be a cheap ass lol

Supposedly the digital Ratshack SPL meter isn't perfect in the lower octaves. Need to find some calibrated #'s for this thing I guess

Actually, for lower Hz it's fine. For "close enough," you don't need a calibrated mic, so about $50 I think.

But you can do it with what you have.

What will you use to do the equalization?

I've got this one: UMIK-1

It's USB and they send you a calibration file, no need for external power, very convenient.

Now, of course, we have to wonder if they ALL behave this way. wink.gif
Just out of curiousity, how much does it use when your listening to something?

I haven't used a meter, just my hydro bill.
I had 1 rw12 always plugged in, using the auto on feature, with no noticeable difference in my usage. I was always 600-800 kwh. I bought a second and put it in the same mode, my usage went to 900-1100 kwh.
About 3-4 months ago, I hooked both up to a power bar and turn it on and off when I use them, and now my usage is back down to the usual 600-800 kwh.
Yes I strongly believe without even testing, that some of these subs have this issue.

Recently I added an sw115 to the mix. I leave it always turned on in standby, with no difference to my usage.

Saves some wear on the SW; although it does work for Football games, if on.

Will I find La Scala, or better, to displace my La Scala fronts, before I displace my kg1, kg2 & kg3 with Heresy or better?

49ers don't play until tomorrow afternoon. Tonight, we have to do with baseball and the Giants.

(one pitch. my kingdom for "ONE" pitch)

The above is for those who watched the Giants game last night.

I've been itching to do DIY 18" sub, but the fiancee (getting married this Saturday eek.gif) won't let me do it unless I get rid of my dual RW-12D. I was hoping in keeping them and putting them by the couch and the DIY 18" sub to the front (may be dual DIY 18" biggrin.gif)

Newegg is showing them in stock again (for $469). Should we expect the sale to go on again? Is Klipsch winding down production?

Supposedly, Klipsch has STOPPED production. Some time ago, in fact.

newegg: "Sold by Luxor Outlet"

Interestingly, you can't buy more than 5, so it's remotely possible that's all they have.

But, as we've noted before, who knows.

I find it hard to believe there are almost a half a million reviews on this sub.

RC-64 Center, RF-7 Fronts, RF-82 Sides, RW-12D, QTY=2, RSW-15, RS-52ii Rears, Pioneer SC-1522-K, Panasonic 65VT60, 65"

I'm still able to buy 5:

but only 97 reviews.

Yes, weird, indeed.
