The subject if this thread is what I'd buy another of; but, if I were you, I'd want an audition first.

Will I find La Scala, or better, to displace my La Scala fronts, before I displace my kg1, kg2 & kg3 with Heresy or better?

Yes. Thats a good deal. Chuffing is no more a problem on the RW than many other subs. You would have to push it very hard to experience any chuffing.

Anyone upgrade from an RW12d to a Rhythmik LV12r? was it worth it? If so how different are they?

I upgraded from an rw-12d to an Elemental Designs a2-300. The Elemental has very similar performance to the Rythmik. Totally worth the upgrade. I actually now have 3 of eD subs.

If anybody has an old broken grill from their RW-12d, and had it replaced by Klipsch with a new one for free (like I did), can you give me a PM? I have a use for the old one. Thanks.

Hello, I have a question. I know as per audysey faq while running audysey I need to put my sub at zero phase, flat and lfe to zero, but after running audysey should I still leave on that setting? Or I need to adjust the lfe to 120hz from the sub itself? Or just leave it on zero? Because on my denon after audysey the lfe from my avr already sets to 120hz. Thanks

Your avr might change the phase so you might check post-Audyssey as to whether the settings (in the avr) changed (i.e. set it opposite what you did). What do you mean adjust the LFE on the sub, it doesn't have such. It does show "LFE mode" when turning the LPF off (and this would be the setting I'd recommend if using your avr for bass management). The LPF of LFE is a different thing than the LPF on the sub in any case, and not even all avr's have a setting for such. Confuses a lot of people though.

Leave the RW settings where you have them. Change the sub volume and xover if desired in the AVR.

Where did you have the dual RW's located vs the single PSA?

Due to WAF, I had the dual Klipsch at the front. Now the PSA-XV15 is next to the couch acting as a end table biggrin.gif I'm hoping to add another PSA-XV15 to the other side of the couch to it will look like we have another end table. I don't think the wife was too happy about that lol.

Just had some fun with some testing...here are three RW's - and a fourth is on the way.  I have a wacked out room, thus trying to smooth it out.  Not bad though for a  relatively inexpensive setup.  The bass is a bit hot, so need to tame them, but decent extension for sure.

What are you using for EQ, if anything?

I'm keeping my 12d and adding a PB-1000 by end of week, which is replacing an old sub that was part of my original satellite setup. You can beat the extension, but you can't beat the value of these things.

I gain matched the subs first, then using Audyssey.  Not sure if there is a better way, I am a bit limited on that my receiver sees them as one.  But I have a REW to help me out for sure.

LOL, good one!

I put one RW in the front-right, the other is behind the couch roughly back-left, both in an angle, with different phases to eliminate major nulls i had at 0 degrees.

So I will shortly have 4 RW's - wacked out room...front l/r and rear l/r - see my setup for more details.  Do you think with 4 angling them might help based on my graph ?  I am so much to learn.

Follow AustinJerry's guide (post #9) for setup and posting graphs. Smoothed subwoofer graphs are useless.

And yes, that's too much "house curve." ;)

Funny thing is that IS NOT a house curve, that is stock Audyssey - crazy stuff.  I am still learning REW and how to post, etc.  I will work on some better graphs.

It is a house curve, just not one that you applied intentionally.

Just lowering the gain on the subs (or AVR) to get it closer to the level of the higher frequencies (but still slightly louder) will help.

Ok, yes in that sense for sure...still not sure why Audyssey was so aggressive - next measurements will hopefully make more sense.

Should be good in a real world situation to almost 25Hz.

I'm getting a PB-1000 to help with the rest.

That was really my first night with REW,  I did a few things wrong...will retest and see what I get.

I don't think the angle adds anything, but I'm a noob myself... smile.gif

I just used REW to help me eliminate the nulls by running the generator and real-time monitor, mic was placed at MLP and I was also sitting in a seat next to MLP to actually listen to the sound pressure, and fine-tune with my ears.

I still need to hang my surrounds, route wires in walls, and re-run Audyssey.

How high is recommended to hang the surrounds (sides and back)?
