I have a budget of up to $350. The sub will be strictly used for music (Hip-Hop and occasional Dubstep). I have a Denon 1613 receiver and a pair of Klipsch KB-15 speakers. I'm thinking about putting them either in my room, which is approximately 11.5 x 11.5 x 8, or possibly the living room which is 15 x 16 x 8 with an attached kitchen (I know there is quite a difference in space). I've been looking at getting the HSU STF-2, but I think that might have problems if placed in the larger space.

Please post suggestions. Thanks.

- a gently-used SVS PB10-NSD

Probably using the "make an offer" option at www.acousticsounddesign.com

The STF-2 would work great in a bedroom. For the larger room in your price range I would look at the Klipsch and PA-150 subs mentioned above. With the current sale on the Klipsch it is hard to beat.

Yes indeed and I grabbed another one earlier this evening. Now all I have to do is sell my PSW505. I''m not going to need three subs.

For a music setup I would go with this 15" Dayton kit all the way

^ how difficult are those subs to build? im thinking about upgrading to the klipsch 12 but if that one you posted would be better i wouldnt mind paying a little bit more if the build process is not too bad.

It's as simple as screwing the amp into place, connecting the wires from the amp to the woofer, and screwing the woofer into place. Easier then assembling boxed furniture for sure wink.gif

It will be superior above 35hz then the rest of the subs in this price range. The low end extension below that point will depend on the room as it's a standard sealed sub (a small room like the OP's will do very well). For a straight up HT in a large room the Klipsch is a better buy, otherwise I tend to like the Dayton.

The BIC pl-200 or the Klipsch rw12d would be the best options.
