My Velodyne SPL-1000 works normally but randomly makes a low frequency BOOM for one or two cycles. This happens independently of the sound input from my home theater. Is this the sign of a bad circuit board or something else. If a bad board, is a replacement board avaialble and is it worth while to replace the circuit board myself? or purchase a new unit.? What is the equivalent new unit?

My old Infinity 12" Subwoofer did this shortly before the integrated amp died. I'd guess it's a problem with the amplifier or circuit board.

Try posting in the Velodyne support thread. Their techs are pretty good at responding to issues there.... They don't generally post in other threads.
