Hi guys, New to the forums and a LONG time appreciator of the site and the great resource that it is.
I'm a finish carpenter in Los Angeles. Speaker building for 12 years.

I've been curious about these two sub's available at PE. I've read a lot about the Lab 12 and it's extension in the BFM cab's. I've partied/heard the 16 horn loaded lab 12's @ Dancetronauts... Power power power.
I've read TC's sub's are awesome other than a few reviews mentioning loud motor assembly's. Not a big deal.

I'd be building the cabs for a couple different applications, mostly electronic music, some HT. Slot ported and tuned to 20 hz. Most likely in multiples of 2 or 4 at first. Venue is a 6000 sq ft ware house 16-20 ft radius'd ceilings.

I'm looking at 12's mostly because of weight. I may move these around. And quicker transient response when compared to a larger driver, but I'm ultimately interested in SQ then SPL then efficiency in that order of importance.

Just looking for your experience with either of them in any kind of enclosure. These are both under $200 a driver and have serious spl/extension potential.

Thanks for helping a newbie!

You have to model them both with speaker modeling software to make any valid comparison. Transient response is seldom, if ever, a consideration with subwoofers.

You may find better answers to your questions in the DIY sub woofer section. There are a lot of guys over there that really know what they are doing and may be able to give you hand modeling an enclosure for you.
