Yep, I'm sure I would love either one. No way you can go wrong between the two.

Check out the E15 with the 550 amp. Doesn't it seem like a better deal? Lighter, cheaper, almost the same loudness, unless the 50 watt difference makes a bigger difference to a slightly smaller cabinet, which it might... slightly...

I like the looks of the HP better and I don't mind bigger and heavier. Looks always counts for something. I like the formidable look of it. This is going in a man cave. No women, children or pets.

I too love the look of the cone on th FV15HP. For the first week I ad the grill on but have since taken it off jst so I can see the beauty.

I watched The Hurt Locker for the first time today and when that first bomb goes off the amount of movement and the feel of the bass brought a instant grin to my face that I cold not wipe off.

So it gets even more interesting. Everyone has present very valid points, making it so hard for me to decide.
Ultimately I would love to get two submersives, but thats out of the question due to budget restraints.

I have been carefully considering two XV30 but unfortunately they are such huge monsters, that I won't be able to accommodate two of them in my space.
So I'm left with the xs30, the new push for the rhytmic duals, and still the jtr captivators.

Now archae, i noticed you have the captivator pro, is this the one I should be looking at or the captivator 2400? Whats the difference. Obviously I would be going with a passive set up.

The fv15hp has also got me very curious, obviously it would be a pair, and I wouldn't mind going over budget by a few hundred dollars if I was getting the best set up. I like the size of them, which is a big plus, and Ive never heard anything bad about rhythmik subs.

So i am basically torn at this point. Don't get me wrong, I like being in this predicament, because I want to make sure I make the best choice.

if that number is true about the XS30, I'm definitely interested!

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

It turned out not to be a ground loop. Brian sent me a new amp and I also purchased an Emotiva CMX-2 and the buzzing from the amp is gone now.

Hm, that's cool. Must have been a huge relief to get that behind you. Literally: eff that noise.

It's interesting to see the trends around here. Right now PSA and Rythmik are trending high. Those GTG threads are super-influential. That creaking noise you hear is the sound of a thousand budgets' being stretched to the breaking point ;-)

Ok, let's bring it back in 2014:D April 13th and I am about to get a sub for my media Room. It is 20' X 17'. Receiver I have in a box is a Denon AVR-X2000 and currently have a 7.1 Polk Audio RC85i In-Wall speaker set up in the wall.

I am replacing the front 3 speakers with 2 Large EMP TEK Towers on Each Side of my Screen, and EMP TEK's largest Center Channel in the middle under the screen on a stand. I am painting the front 3 speakers to match the room color so they will disappear.

You can see where my sub is placednow. That is out of convienience as my receiver is in the corner. I hate my Sub Now! It's a PSW 1000. There was a large batch in 2007 that had a bad amps, and some guy bought pallets of them and replaced the amp with a Bash Audio Amp. So, I really never knew what a TRUE PSW1000 sounded like. Mine just pushes air and has no TIGHT DEEP Thump!!! It sounds like a big box of rattle, and when the movie is playing and there is not a Major Sub Moment, it rumbles in the background and is annoying.

Anyway I am looking at ONE Rythmik FV15HP for the Room. Also considered an SVS and possibly a PSA X30. I am tired of researching and messing around and I need ot get a sub soon. I think I am getting the Rythmik FV15HP, but let me know if that is a smart choice.

Also, just by LOOKING at my room, where would you put it? Would 2 smaller subs be better than ONE FV15HP? Like 2 XV15's or PB2000's, etc?

Help!

That's an awesome home theater room.. I'm envious and jealous! :P My Martin Logan Electromotion ESL's would look sweet in that room. I have an xs30 that sounds great. It depends on where you want your bass. The XS30 has great upper bass, the FV15HP would probably be better for Movies. But I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I would stretch your budget a little if you can and go with 3 HSU VTF-15hs. But if you can't, dual PSA XS30s would be awesome.

Also, I know of a guy selling quad Epik Empires for $2000 plus shipping. It would come out to right under your budget. For the money, nothing will touch 4 Empires.
