Greetings all I have and older Velodyne V1012B that the bottom woofer has gone bad. Its really not a speaker with wires to it, its a speaker with a wooden cone that fires downward. No doubt it plays an important part in sound. i was wondering if i should just buy a kit and repair it or purchase a new one?

If you like the sub and the cost of repairing it isn't greater than the cost of a new sub of comparable (or better) performance, repair it and keep enjoying it. Otherwise, consider replacing it with a newer sub.
