I settled at +3 on the sub from where Audyssey set it. That, along with DEQ at the 15 dB offset, works pretty well for music. I don't use any boost for movies, but keep DEQ at 0 offset.

I mentioned I was 42 so this was 4 year ago! I will have to read but I am not sure what sub system I owned back then. Anyways, still running subs at 10-12 dB hot and listening at reference with MV. I can see where running WOTW pods emerge on a continuous loop could be bad but usually big and loud scenes are short in duration.

Marantz 7702 Atmos
Outlaw 7140 and 5000
Speakers- DIY mini arrays for fronts and BFM TLAH for surrounds
subs 2 XXX ported SLLT powered by IPR2-7500.

Great thread, thanks for bumping this up.

I have a Denon 4200. Ran Audyssey and level matched to 75db at about 25% gain on my Outlaw. Then Audyssey set sub trim to -4. I normally watch at -10 reference so my sub would be -14 reference?

I would have to increase trim in Audyssey to +10 in order to be at reference?

If so, I might try boosting trim +4 and see if I can tell a difference...then go up or (back) down from there.

No, it is at reference at -4, or should be. If you turn it higher then it is hot accordingly.
