For fun what issues if any would there be if you put a sub on each preout assuming room and cost is not an issue? if you got lucky and the subs were placed so that they were relatively flat how would this work vs 7 speakers and those same subs hooked to the sub out?

would you get "good" localization? what would Audyssey think when you ran it?

You would send low frequency to each pre-out which means the power amp driving the speakers would also be reproducing low frequency.

not really an issue as what the crossover does is present such a high impedance to the amp that it never makes significant power, so it doesn't matter to the amp. That's why your tweeters don't blow out of your speakers and fly across the room every time you play a movie.

to the OP, below some frequency, typically stated as 80 Hz for most folks, there is no localization whatsoever with bass. None. Unless your head is a couple of feet wide or more, there's not a relevant difference in arrival times that your ear/brain system can process. You'd have a lot of subs and whether they'd play nicely when reproducing the same content, as is often the case, would be a wide open question . . . . and you'd still need a sub to cover the LFE channel . . .
