I'm looking to buy a sub for a small bedroom (replacing a z623 Logitech PC speaker sub that's hooked up to my receiver) and I'm wondering what's the best choice for under $200.

60% (music) / 40% (TV/Movies)

I was looking at either the BIC F-12 or the Polk PSW505. Is either a clear winner?

I thought it might be overkill for a small bedroom but I thought it'd be wise to spend ~$100 more for one of those instead of getting a mediocre Pioneer SW-8? (or maybe it's not that mediocre?)

$200 is the absolute limit.

Thanks

In this forum, you can do a search on Archaea who did a very good review on the Pioneer SW-8. It measures exceptionally poorly.

The BIC F12 is probably the most recommended sub at ~$200 in this forum. It will play somewhat lower than the Polk PSW-505. You would probably be happy with either.
