As an example:

http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/subwoofers/ultra-12/ultra-12-measurements

I am looking at this and how things drop off at 32Hz.pretty substantially. But it shows 20hz anywhere from 80 - 90db.

What does this mean? Isn't 80db pretty loud? I do not understand.

Samsung 51" PN51E450A, Pioneer VSX-918V, Polk Tsi300, Polk CS 2 series ii center, Energy S10.3.

The main consideration is the deviation from the average at low frequencies. Where that drops to -3dB you can easily tell that it's not as loud. Where it drops to -10dB it's half as loud. -10dB is considered the lowest useful frequency.
