I have
Polk Monitor 40's - L/R
Polk CS1 Series II - Center
Polk Monitor 30's - Surround
Polk PSW10 - Subwoofer
Yamaha RX- V371 - A/V Reciever

I am impressed with all the speakers except the subwoofer, it just sounds like garbage when turned up. I have messed with all the setting in the receiver and the back of the sub and it cant seem to find something that works. Does anyone know why it would sound so bad, and do you have any recommendations for a sub in the $100-200 range? Thanks

To be perfectly honest, I'd at least save up and buy the Klipsch RW-12D from newegg @$299 when it goes on sale every other month or so.

Oppo BDP103, Mitsubishi WD8240, Klipsch RF-63's, Pioneer Elite SC-25, Furman Elite 15, Emotiva XPA-5, Harmony 1100, Rythmik FV15HP

The PSW505 is a far better sub. It'll run you $190 on sale. That's at the top of your budget. Try newegg.

I was looking at the PSW505 but I was unsure considering i all ready bough a polk sub and was let down. I Will look into both. Is it the PSW10 that sounds bad or my setup combo?

Like I said, it's a far better sub. If you can increase your budget to $300 the RW-12d is the way to go.

The Bic F12 is another option under $200 if you don't want the PSW505

I think you'll be happy with it. It's quite a bit better than that 10" Polk. I used to own a pair. You'll be getting your money's worth.
