I need a good budget subwoofer for front placing (ideally bigger than 10'') , so that i can move my 8'' subwoofer back near the listening position couch .

Room is 4.3x4.6 meters.

Was thinking about jamo sub660 , thats the best 12'' i found in Malta. Or else, i can try buying one from an online website like amazon or so.

Thanks.

This is a shot of my room / setup. Current 8'' subwoofer is placed behind the christmas tree.

Heya,

I've tried several entry level 10~12" subs, and found the BIC F12 to really deliver the best and it's very attractive. Usually runs $190 on Amazon.

Very best,

Do you think its enough for a 4.3m x 4.6 room plus my current jamo sub 250 in the back of the room ? 150 Watts or RMS is kinda low (BIC F12) . What do you think ?

The Bic F12 is a pretty good sub, especially for the price. But with your budget you can get something that would work better in your space.

Does anyone know if any of the ID brands ship to Santa Lucia?

The bic F12 on amazon is ''187.00 USD = 138.953 EUR'' . I can go a litle higher , maybe 200 euros or less. As you see , room is wide opened from one side , but when i set fronts to large (they are powered with a 10''woofers),the bass is pretty tight ! So im assuming the f12 can do a good job. Dont forget im going to move the 8'' sub to the back near the listening sofa.

Heya,

It will do well in that room actually, depending on placement of course.

However with your budget, you could get quite more. There's a list of subs per price category that might get you started on looking at reviews to figure out what's best for you.

You could also look into DIY to create something truly thunderous for your price.

I know what a Euro is but I don't know what the final price of anything is in the EuroZone. A suggestion on my part, based on what your stated budget is, if not a Klipsch, RW-12d, then a BIC, PL-200. Your Euro may vary. tongue.gif

Very best,
Can you send me the list please? The placement of the new sub that im going to buy is going to be placed in the front left corner,in the side of the opened side , as you can see in the picture behind that christmas tree. My current sub is going to be places in the back right corner between the piano and the snowman.

When i converted 200 euros to dollars , ''200.00 EUR = 268.906 USD'' , so something near that.

Every place I look at the Jamo 660 they only list the peak wattage and not the RMS. Personally that would be enough for me not to buy it.

But with all the additional local taxes and such, I don't know what the final, delivered price is going be.

As to peak vs RMS, to get to RMS, think one-third to one-half peak output as you'll be close to home plate.

I'm sure the European Amazon will get more in. Can you e-mail them and ask?

Anyway, what is your subwoofers suggestions for this room ? My current 8'' sub is going to be placed near seating area, so a 12'' sub will just do fine, Because even with my fronts set to large , bass is pretty tight and punchy !

The Bic pl200 would be a good choice if you can find it. Also the Premier Acoustics pa150.
You can get the pa120 at Amazon but its only 200rms. Its a good sub but the 150 would do a better job of filling the room.

How about an SVS PB-1000? Not sure what the shipping costs would be. Think you'd have to get a quote from them.

I tell you what. Im gonna make this simple. Since you are pretty much stuck with Amazon and you were willing to go $540 or so anyway. This is your best bet and you cant go wrong.

Most people get it here for around $300 but even at $360 its very hard to beat and since it will make things much simpler for you with it being at Amazon thats what I would get.

That "10" subwoofer" hits louder and lower than the PL-200. The PA 150 does look pretty impressive though.

Then i will go for this sub. Im sure it will sound great smile.gif Does it match with my current 8'' jamo subwoofer? Maybe i can put the 8'' back near the sofa and the klipsch sub in the front of the room ?

Would the Premier Acoustic PA-120 be better than the RW12D?

Think so. The klipsch sub is 825 peak and the sub you mentioned is 650 peak.

Well, wattage isn't as important as you'd think. Especially "peak" wattage. It's just one of the many factor that determine how loud a sub plays.

After reading a few threads about the PA-120 though, I would say the RW12D would be better. The PA-120 seems to drop off quickly after 25hz or so, and it's very loud up to that point either. The RW12D is pretty well regarded.
