I am reorganizing my room and was thinking to add a small 2 tire bookshelf and place the subwoofer in the bottom tire? its a small 100W - 150W down firing 12" cubic sub with a port on its side and feet on the bottom. now if I were to place it inside the bookshelf then the bookshelf walls may offer an inch or two of clearance for the port, or I could turn the subwoofer around making the front side facing its right side and the port facing forward of the bookshelf.

So not sure which way to go. I know the later way would offer all the clearance but at the expense of looking ugly and messy since the wiring will come showing on one side.. I dont know, maybe I could do some modifications to the bookshelf to you know add a half panel and hide the wiring, but I dont know. How much clearance does the port need anyway?

Why don't you try it both ways and see which way sounds the best? The port doesn't need much clearance, especially with that size sub. I'd be more concerned with how it sounds inside a bookshelf. wink.gif

LOL. Thanks. I have been told under the table or in a semi confined space made of wood it can amplify the bass and turn into a mini bass cave, nanananana BASS CAVE! biggrin.gif
