I've got a Marantz 6007 receiver and it has two sub outs. Right now I have one Klipsch SW-115. I'm thinking of adding a second sub. What sub should I get, (a second SW-115, or something else) and what sub should go to each port on the receiver? I really like LFE, and my room is rather large, 20x30.

BTW, I use it 95% movies/5% music

I would get another SW-115, or check out the PSA XV-15.

Don't matter what sub pre-out you connect to but I'd go with something to make that 460 stand up and notice. What kind of budget do you have and how far can you realistically push this budget?

$1000 is the max, but I'd really like to spend only $600 or so. Newegg has a RW-12d for $280 right now, but I think that would be too small. I'm not familiar with sub sizing and mixing types. LOL I thought of even just buying two of the RW-12ds, and put one on each side of my SW-115, seeing as how cheap they seem to be. tongue.gif

That's the best price I've seen the RW-12d but in truth, in my opinion, you'll be better served buying a second SW-115. It digs deeper and with more authority than an added pair of RW-12d's. But, you'd be even better served if you bought a Rythmik, F15

Seeing your budget statement, this would be a better driver match to your existing 15" driver, an improvement over a second SW-115 in that this digs deeper than a SW-115 and does so with authority, Overall, based on your stated budget and the subwoofer you currently have, in my opinion, this would be both a match and an improvement over what you currently have.

In the end, as we all know or will come to understand, it's all about the Bejamins and how many of those bad boys that one has to spend, determines bang-for-buck.

So, it's your call.

Choice one: two RW-12d's (which is only.......an okay choice)

Choice two: a second matching SW-115, a perfect match that give you co-location gain and the bass, room smoothing affect a second sub offers.

Choice three: an internet direct subwoofer that digs deeper, is an excellent driver match, better made then both the above choices which, overall, gives one more bang-for-the-buck vs the other two choices.

Again, it's your call. cool.gif...wink.gif

Hope the above gives you some ideas.

I noticed the FV15HP is only a little more expensive, is it worth it?

Also, will that much bass next to my TV hurt it? (three or four feet away) I've got a 92" Mitsubishi RP DLP TV.

My understanding, a sub of this kind won't bother your television as lots have weighed in on the matter you suggest and report no problems.

As to the FV15HP, basically, it would crush your SW-115 in the way a pro-ball team would expectedly crush a community college squad. eek.gif

If your budget will allow, go for the FV15HP but don't be surprised if you're soon back, looking for a second FV15HP, to complete the deal. wink.gif

When you do get your new sub, you do realize that your planned location is probably not going to be the best location, right? wink.gif

Murphy's Law states that at the main listening position, the most aesthetically pleasing subwoofer location, will create the worst possible null. It's da law. tongue.gif
