I'm trying to find something that is equivalent in output and sound quality to a pair of Klipsch RW-12D subs. I have a $500 budget, the pair of Klipsch RW-12d's can be had for $560 onsale at newegg which is slightly over my budget but that is ok. I'd say $600 is my absolute limit, but I'd like to spend $500 or less.

Anyway, my use is primarily for movies and music is secondary.

Currently the system consists of:
Klipsch RF-82 (5 Speaker System, first generation, minus a sub)
Rotel 5.1 Receiver, with around 100watts/channel.

How big is your room and is it open to other areas of your home?

I don't think you'll find two subs for $600 that have the equivalent output and equal or better SQ to dual RW-12ds.

However, in a single sub, the Rythmik LV12R should have better SQ than the RW-12d. You'll lose the benefit of dual subs, and you may have less output (hard to say).

I have 2 subs and love a dual sub setup. But with your budget of $500-$600 I would suggest starting with a single Rythmik LV-12R OR a single Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus..... Then if you really fall in love with one of those subs if you buy one of them, you can buy a second identical sub in the future as your budget allows. Then you can have the benefits of stepping up into good subs with sub 20hz ability and the benefits of dual subs.
