I've got a very modest home theater setup. Energy Take Classic speakers, and ESW-C8 Subwoofer:
These are connected to a Denon AVR-1610 w/Audigy doing its thing.
My room is 18'x15' and the system is 90% movies, 10% music.
At Medium to High volume, the subwoofer frequently distorts during loud sequences, so I'm looking to replace it, and looking to spend in the neighborhood of $250.
Ports on the back or sides may not work, since it's sitting in the corner of the room, and butted right up against my entertainment center on the third side.
I was considering the Polk Audio PSW10, but am afraid it's not going to be powerful enough... the power rating is lower than my current 8" sub.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Just noticed the thread about the $300 Klipsch on Newegg. From what I can tell, it looks like it's ported in the front, at an angle toward the ground, is that right? Is it really only 14.5" wide? If so, this sounds like it'd be a perfect fit. Is it too much for my little setup (serious question)
