Looking for a budget sub.. not looking to spend more than $300..
Had it narrowed down to a PL-200 but Mike at acoustic sound recommended the PA-120 because of a better amp??
Saying that the amp is bettter quality??
The pl-200 can be had now for $279
The PA-120 for 254.00
Scratch and dent H100 for 211
Bic F12 around 190
pl-200 has better specs on amp 250 rms 1000 peak
pa-120 amp is 650 peak 200 rms
pa-120 24hz-240khz 85db 1 meter 1 watt ?
pl-200 22hz-200hz .....110db @ 30 hz

From specs I'd think pl-200 hits lower 2hz lower @ 22hz vs pa-120s 24hz and louder at 110db sensitivity

Now why would Mike say the pa-120 analog amp is better then the pl-200's BASH amp ???

Other specs
I have rf52ii's for mains
RF42ii center
KG 3.5 surrounds
and a POS KLH GFX5500 that sucks

normal size room at 10x30ish?

I don't need a killer HSU or SVS sub just want something economical with deep tight booms for HT use

Thanks!

When it's on sale for ~$300 at Newegg.com - something that seems to happen fairly regularly - the Klipsch RW-12d is probably your best bet:
- 12" driver
- 350W RMS
- 24-120Hz +/-3dB

Ya I missed out on the last sale... is the rw12-d really the best bet in this price range??
I could even wait out for a good price on an STF-2 but that is really pushing my upper $$ range..

The consensus seems to be that the RW-12d is the best subwoofer value at $300. IMO, it's worth waiting for the next sale.

I truly think at this price point, $80 to $300, it depends on your personal comfort level. Both of the used subs sound like a good deal for the money, but no warranty. A new Klipsch sub has a 2/5 year warranty:

"Klipsch Group, Inc, (KGI) warrants to the original retail purchaser that this product is to be free from defective materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) year on electronics and five (5) years on woofer, cabinet and non-electrical mechanics, from the date of purchase,..."

No buyers remorse here! smile.gif

How is the Wife Approval Factor? Since you're bragging about how loud it is, I bet you haven't even told her yet that you have it! rolleyes.gif

Yeah, my wife either. I've had my Klipsch RW-12d for two weeks now. She has no clue I bought a sub.

I play it loud on weekends when she is at work. smile.gif

Just buy her a purse on something and she will not complain about the sub.
