Hello everyone,

I currently have a Polk PSW110 for my home theater and just came across a good deal on the Klipsch RW-12d at newegg.com. Would this be a significant upgrade to consider?

Thanks!

i believe it would be a solid upgrade for deeper extension alone... the psw110 rolls off quick around 32hz, as most polk subs do. the klipsch will give you solid extension to around the 23-25hz range, which is much better for movies.

Massive difference. I hooked up my buddies system with a PSW110 and while it sounds good, the RW-12D is on a whole different level altogether.

Polk PSW100
- 10" driver
- 100W continuous/RMS amp
- 38Hz @ -3dB

Klipsch RW-12d
- 12" driver
- 350W RMS amp
- 24Hz @ -3dB

IMO, it would be a significant upgrade to purchase, not just to consider. wink.gifsmile.gif

Amazon has the Polk PSW505 on sale for $180. 12 inch, 300 watts continuous 460 peak.

I just received mine and really like it . Of course there are more expensive options.

the psw505 is good for 180.00 but there are much better options. I had 2 of them and they do have alot of output from 30hz on up. They are not the most musical sub, but they do a ok job. when you compare them to a quality sub such as a PSA XV15, they sound like fart boxes. that being said, I would spend the extra 100-120.00 and get a klipsch rw12.

Lol...I am just telling it how it is. Fwiw I am polk fan at heart but there is much better options for subwoofers. Like I said the psw505 is a great sub for 180.00. However you dont realize what your missing until you hear something better.
