My room is 12x18 with 7'9" ceilings. It is a dedicated HT room with an AT screen. 2' behind the screen, 16' in front of the screen. Seating is 3' from the rear wall. I know 2 subs are better than one, but should I just get one now and add one later or will 2 VTF-1 MK2 be good enough that a later upgrade to a second VTF-15H wouldn't make an appreciable difference for my small theater? It will be used for 85% movies, 10% TV, 5% video games. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thats a average size sealed room so both would work well. If adding a second vtf15 is in the cards down the road then I say get one now and add a second later if you feel the need. It all comes down to what your trying to accomplish. multiple subs are better for smoothing the response and adding better coverage across multiple seating areas. however if your primarily the only listener and 1 seating posistion is only of concern, then one sub with the proper placement and eq'ing will work great.

The VTF15h will absolutely destroy two VTF1s. VTF1s will create a more even response throughout the room, but a VTF15h will have so much more dynamic range. I would go for a VTF15h.

VTF-15H... Buy one now and if you want more bass and smoother freq resp buy another as budget allows.
