A response graph will not tell how flat you are, a compression sweep will. This is the point where you will se the response stop rising after you turned it up. This will happen down low first.

If she is into movie watching at all, see if you can get her opinion over which one she prefers. She might really appreciate how the sub sounds once you get it, and then you've made her part of selecting it. Then work on her over the next year or so to get a 2nd.
Man! I really like your philosophy's sounds like u been there and that. But really great idea! Thanks

You are welcome smile.gif

There have been other AVS members who have managed to get their wives involved in liking good HT setups. Just gotta figure out how to work that.

If you go that route, and she picks the sub, be sure to congratulate her on what a good choice she made after you get it and the two of you watch a good bass heavy music with it. And do it more than once over the next few months, so that she feels invested in the HT setup wink.gif

Well I convinced my wife the old fashion way, I just kept changing things and she finally accepted the fact this is my hobby. I always say I could go back to cars! The biggest and best thing I ever did was settle on a dedicated space and get out of the way. I even gave her a bigger portion of the basement for the laundry room. Of course my hobby shakes and rattles all the other spaces but I have convinced her that is cool! Convincing her mother is another topic!

LOL! Good luck with that. At least your wife is on board that always helps, compromise is the key. smile.gif
