I just ordered a LCR set of JTR 228 speakers. My room is 17 x 17 x 8'6" with openings on 3 sides (One opening is
6' x7'). I currently have 2 Polk PSW505s. I'll probably upgrade these subs soon and am looking at my options.

How about dual Power Sound Audio XS30s for $2183 shipped?

What other options do I have for this performance, price, quality, and customer service?

JTR Noesis 228 (LCR)
Polk Audio LSiM 703 (Surrounds)
Seaton SubMersive HP Plus and Minus (Subs)
Denon 3312 (Receiver)
Sherbourn PA 7-350 (Amp)
Oppo BDP-103 (BluRay Player)
Sharp 80" 3D

2 openings feed into hallways. The large opening feeds into a room approx 14 x 23.

And someone must have missed the cost factor in my post re dual Triax, lol

I wish I had that kind of budget

You can always fix that by adding a third XS30 at a later time and date.

Maybe a pair of XV30f's with an eye on a third or the addition of a XV15 or XV30 in the near future. That would help plug those openings.

(yup, works for me)

your dealing with 10000^3, I highly doubt any turn key dual sealed sub setup in your budget is going to net deeper extension than a ported sub in that size room.

I would be lookin at dual rythmik fv15hp's or psa xv30's.

Hi rangers.

With JTR 228 speakers I would only considered Orbit Shifter LFU or LF smile.gif as the first option and the second option would be Captivator S2.

Both of which are totally over his budget.

Two XS30's would probably work well if they were both placed near field to your seating location.

Looking at all of my options, kicking ideas around....would one JTR Cap S1 be equal to two XS30s? Same cost....

One of my subs sits in a corner, 6' from my primary listening position. I could place it there.

No two XS30's will have more output then a single Cap S1, that was the very same dilemma I went threw. I was all set to buy a Cap S1 but for a little less money I could get dual XS30's.

If you are set on sealed then get the dual xs30's.

For a similar price one could pick up three XS15's.

One could go asymmetrical with a XS30 and one XS15 with an early eye on a second XS15 at a later date. I'm partial to that combination. Yummmm!

How big is your room James? I've had dual XS30's for over a year now and love them!

I have something a little crazier in the works for my room now, and will be taking them out of my theatre room but they have performed flawlessly since day one!

I have owned dual XS30's for a while now, you are going to love them! They replaced a single svs pc13, no regrets.

Just moved into a new home, same size room, but much better performance. Crazy how big of a difference it has been.
