I have two mfw15 subs. They work fine. I was thinking of purchasing one or two higher end subs, Svs pb13 or something similar. I realize I could do the turbo upgrade for less than one pb13. Any thoughts on if the turbo can compare to the around 1500-2k subs?

I owned two MFW-15 Turbos and they are an excellent subwoofer. From late 2011 and through last year I heard about 12 high output dual subwoofer systems, 2 quad subwoofer systems, 7 single subwoofer systems and my own infinite baffle system. I can't think of any commercial subwoofer less than $2000 that I would rather own than even a single Turbo.

So your saying that the Turbo upgrade is worth the plunge?

I have dual MFW-15 Satin black subs the amps finally are toast, they fit so perfectly with our decor my wife forgot they were not part of our A/V cabinet and were actually subs sitting there. I considered purchasing some SVS sub's but TBH, nothing out there was the perfect size and look that these cabinets have. For this reason alone I want to take the plunge and pick up a couple of these Turbo kits. I have read the one thread a million times that seems to be populated to other forums all over of the review that was done saying that this kit is an amazing upgrade and the way these sub's should have been from the get go.

Are you saying that this is a worthy upgrade? That though the price may seem a tad high, its worth taking that plunge? I love my cabinets, I know that the upgraded parts use the cabinet and the rest of the old AV123 crap goes out and bye bye to that whole load of issues, so what about performance?

Do these end up being really punchy with this turbo upgrade? Will I begin to get that "in your gut" kick with this upgrade without that muddy/muddled boomy sound these originally gave (my wife hated the way the originals sounded)? Will two MFW-Turbo upgrades wake up my neighbors? (if so they need to be rattled anyway lol) Would they compliment my Paradigms (2x Studio 100, 2x Studio 60, 1x CC-590 all v5, pushing it is a Elite SC-27) well for movies and BR concerts?

I am finally upgrading to a 65" 8000 series Sammy and moving into 3D and want that low end back, so wanting to either fix these MFW-15 subs to bring back the joy of watching movies at home, or spend about the same to get that low end LFE kick I need. Is the Turbo kit worth this in the end to get what I am looking for? I have about 1,100 sq ft of angles and half walls etc to "fill" from living room to kitchen, to formal dining, to formal living. Its all basically open downstairs and am hoping that this upgrade kit will finally give me what I need for that punch. We sit about 12-14ft from where they sit.

Suggestions? Any Turbo owners out there still happy with their upgrades?

I'm also curious.
Now that the Turbo has had a few phases of shipment, are people happy they went with the Turbo over buying a new sub? Any regrets?

I currently own two MFW15 Turbo Upgrade for over a year but using only one due its tremendous output. I ajust the gain between the 9:00 and 10:00 oclock depending on the listening source. If you are a owner of a stock MFW15 and looking for a new sub you must give the upgrade serious consideration. Price wise I can not thing of any sub in its range that challenge its price per performance, and may challenge subs in higher price range. With a custom made 40lb driver, a modified dayton amp known for dependability and fairly easy installation, should give you years of enjoyable listening and a peace of mind, priceless. Just my take on it.
