That's encouraging.
My Definitive Technology PF15TL+ subwoofer has 14Hz in specs but many mention not so usable below 25hz but going with your reply, I'll probably not need another in my small living room.

Thumbs up Sub Review

Sorry I haven't been back to this in several years, but I always wanted to let you guys know my thoughts on the sub. First it was much bigger then I expected. I guess sticking out farther from the wall or whatever, room mechanics, I had to move the behemoth several times for either sound I liked / make wife happy. Spot we liked best was the left rear corner. It's a little loud for the person sitting right next to it but for everyone else it was perfect. Compared to my old college sub this one brings much more filling to the room. My old one was more then audible and I sometimes I thought you could really feel it, but the HSU is in a whole different league. It's ability to compress the air when a grenade goes off or shake the house in an earthquake is unreal and yet when uncalled for it's like it isn't there at all. My old sub I had to set the gain for each type of movie I was watching. For this sub, I do little if any fine tunning. You know sometimes you get something with crappy encoding and produces a hum in those low frequencies they didn't expect anyone to actually reproduce. Well my old sub didn't reproduce that crap unless it was cranked. With the HSU I have to turn it off.

I don't remember all the details but I had it with both ports open for a about a week, then tried each port plugged, then both ports plugged in short increments. I remember strongly preferring the right port closed, but can't recall the details. Regardless it's been that way for a while now.

One of the first instances that really impressed me with my old sub was in Lord of The Rings when they are arguing about what to do with the ring and Gandaff starts speaking in Mordorian. I still remember the smile that scene game me well over a decade ago and was very pleased with this subs repetition of that scene.

I know that in the years in between HSU has came out with a Mark II, so my review carries less weight, but I would highly recommend it.
