I never built a bottom panel, we just drilled it into the plywood of the riser! So the box is the riser we sit on. I have to extend the lower riser out a bit as the driver will hit the back of the seats because it is so close. I could redesign the two sides and just put 4 sealed drivers in each box and call it a day but I won't.

Hey pop, you had created a sub journey thread before...could you post the link? Time for my update.

I played bass I love you for testing purposes and WTF! Just in sealed mode the whole back riser, moldings, back speakers, and body starting moving! I don't know what the response was but my 4 sealed drivers felt more powerful than anything before. These are literally less than a foot away from me in all directions. In sealed mode it only adds 4 SI across the board but the location and platform felt more powerful than the 12 SI's I had before, it was stupid crazy! The 7 hz tone made my shirt wiggle and the upstairs was wobbling from it. The surround speakers have to be reinforced!

Whole notha level...

Awesome stuff mk! I must say that it is not surprising at all for those of us that run nearfield subs.

If you recall, I ran a test between the tactile feedback from subs that were 3 ft away vs 13ft away in post4 of this thread. To get the same amount of tactile feedback as the nearfield subs, I had to increase the volume of the subs 13ft away by 20db!

Sounds like your room is similar...

Yes, I don't think my front array of 12 SI's could even get to shake me from the 4! I will try though!

Looks a lot better with the AT screen. How deep is the space behind your screen and what is the screen size before / after?

It does not fit into rooms so the room size is too big for a great ULF score.

I was thinking of porting my sealed setup but what is the point? I already don't use all of what I have, just building a better box to driver enclosure for better low end sensitivity like an IB should have.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anybody has ever posted their subwoofer response in real-time video on AVS before.

This is the "first sign" that I've seen that society is starting to reach "web 1.5" technological abilities, this is an important milestone.
As I've said many times already, pictures are so.... 90's dial-up

Anyways, enough about web-technology progression...

Thanks!

It was really interesting going back and looking at my upgrade path from a ULF score perspective. I remember when I first got into this hobby about 4 years ago when I purchased the eD A2-300.

It was absolutely awesome....based on my listening preference (-18db was the loudest I listened at the time...), I thought I was in bass nirvana! I had a 2.5 Star ULF system and was very happy! So, I can definitely relate to those that are satisfied with their entry level HT sub.

Ignorance is bliss.

I love my Klipsch speakers. They are incredibly dynamic and great for movies and rock concert level sound! When I want to dial it back and listen to some jazz, classical, etc. that's where the maggies excel...and where the flat curve comes in for my critical listening. My HT curve has the bass jacked pretty good.

Why did you get rid of your Klipsch's?

Thanks...I agree. It really changed it from a media room, to a theater IMO.

I've got around 28in from the frame to the wall.

You may not have to. What does your response look like nearfield?

Do you want to see if you have a ULF resonant frequency in your riser or couch?

You can use the Vibration Meter to take measurements and plot them against different frequencies. I did this with mine, and that's how I determined my HT seating gets energized between 10hz and 20hz.

Ivan won't give up the design... I'm sure Danley would for a price, but I haven't begun to explore that avenue. Hummm, it was initially designed for the military, so maybe they won't give up the design? Ha!
