I have a more/less rectangular room, with the room being wider than deep. Have my subwoofer against the wall that is a 9 o'clock position from the listening area. Aesthetically, it would look better in a little nook I have in the corner between an ikea wall-unit and 2 walls (about 6-8 feet to the right from where it is now).

My concern with this is that it would "just fit" in this little corner with only 1 side open and drastically change the sound. The room is small and the subwoofer is beyond overkill for the space anyway, so i don't want to create any extra "boom."

Subwoofer is a SVS PC13-Ultra Cylindrical sub. I have an Antimode 8033 & Audyssey XT32.

What do the experts think?

All rooms are different...The best thing you can do is try every placement option possible and let the sub decide where it wants to be. If you do not have measuring gear, then you can use the sub crawl method. I can say that 9/10 times the sub performs the least where it looks the best. Maybe you will get lucky smile.gif

+1..........painful but true. All the aesthetics jump out of the window when it comes to subs.
