Hi Guys,

Please help me out with this query I have

My Dealer in India is selling me an refurbished SVS pc13 ultra sub woofer. The problem with this sub is that it has an amp of pb13 ultra model. Will this make any difference to performance? Please suggest will it be safe to buy it?

A complete new Sub here in India cost us 3000 USD, just because it is refurbished I am getting it for 1600 USD. So will it be safe to buy it?

Thanks

Just simply contact custservice@svsound.com, they should be able to set you straight.

Everything appears to be the same between the two amps but it’s so easy to confirm this with a quick mail I would do so. SVS is very good about replying back. DSP could be slightly dif??

The replacement amps are model specific on the site so there may very well be dsp differences.

I acccept all friend requests with AVS in the message. Add me!!

The DSP between the PC13 and PB13 must be something different. For the PB13 has a slight head start for their extra size closet. Most likely who are designed to squeeze every drop of performance in each of their designs.

In my humble opinion, you buy a PB13 or PC13, but they are both in their proper amplifier designs.

I would not doubt it. I just mailed them at 12:10 my time, watch how fast they get back unless they are having a off day like we all do at times. smile.gif

Yes, there are different flash files (EQ/limiter/infrasonic filter, etc.) for the STA-1000D depending on which Ultra model it's used in. It's optimized for each sub.

Yeah I did this and got reply from then

"The DSP flash files in the Sledge STA-1000D amplifier are unique to each Ultra model (i.e., PC13-Ultra, PB13-Ultra, SB13-Ultra). The amplifier can be re-flashed for any Ultra model, provided your dealer has this capability. If your dealer does not have this capability, they can install a spare STA-1000D (flashed for the PC13-Ultra) prior to sale. If your dealer has any questions about this, or requires technical support, please have them contact SVS-USA directly"

I have yet to spoke to the dealer about this but I am sure if they do get it done they would sell it at original price which is 3000 USD here frown.gif

Can DSP be turned offf? and let Audyssey take care of eq stuff?

I wouldn't fiddle with the DSP of this amp and let audyssey take it over. Audyssey may complent the FR, but it may damage the driver trying to supplement by boosting the low-end a lil too much.

While the PB13U and the PC13U utilize the same Sledge STA-1000D amplifier, the microprocessor flash file for the PC13U is different than for the PB13U. Namely the internal EQ curve and the limiter/compressor settings. So the correct flash file should be installed on the amp before it is sold, or a spare amp which is already flashed with the PC13U file should be installed. If your dealer needs assistance with that, please have them contact SVS-USA tech support for guidance.
