I like kk products, they sound nice but their value gets lost in the crowd. Soon velodyne will follow the same fate I'm afraid. I really like their sats. Amazing for their size.

There's no need to do that, IMO. You linked to a thread that had useful, relevant, subjective opinions--nothing wrong with that. My only gripe was that the impression that people who didn't click the link would get is that there was a 1 to 1 comparo. Just adding that caveat doesn't change the validity of what the members on that site thought.

I'll put the link back up, I just didn't want to derail the Op question as that can easily happen by the third post and makes it that much harder for enthusiast to get the info there searching for to enjoy this hobby!

Thanks for the. Read that long thread. They probably did the shootout but none of them would say which is better which is worst.

I mean, what is the point of posting a shootout but wouldn't "dare" conclude which one won ?

FWIW, the SubMersive used was a standard/original with our 1000W amplifier, not the HP version. We were not yet selling the HPi at the time of the comparison.

Of course Tom's points are very relevant as the in-room frequency response has a huge impact on such comparisons.

Does that mean the Submersive with its much more low end might not sound as tight within the Midbass? I always hear people say subs that reproduce the lows are slower but in fact they are just as accurate and also reproducing the slower to decay, longer, and lower wavelengths.

I personally have the DXD 12012, and it has a enough power and punch for me and I have large room. If it shakes the couch and the whole house, then thats good enough for me and the DXD 12012 does that. I absolutely love the sound of the DXD 12012! It never calls attention to itself, its well detailed, and upper bass sounds more detailed than the 8 inch woofers I have in my Klipsch RF 82s. When I watch a movie I want to be immersed and focus on the screen and have a sense I am participating, and the DXD 12012 has no trouble providing that.

Hey BIGBEAR2004 ! I see you decided on a sub wink.gif did you get to use the trade? and how do you feel it compares to the previous?
my room is 20x21x8 open to the kitchen and hallway and a single DXD12012 fills it effortlessly as well. Love the comments on the clean upper bass, its what impressed me as well when I heard it reproduce the lower vibrations from strings and blats from horns my jaw hit the floor as I've waited many years to hear a sub do this along with my mains . Notice how well it tracks the bass around the room and how well it goes from note to note without distraction.

glad to see someone else hearing what I hear finnaly wink.gif

I couldn't use the trade in due to my location and it would have costed an arm plus a few legs to ship it out. In comparison to my previous sub, it blows it out of the water.
In addition to bass detail that even my main speakers can't reproduce as they just muddle it up, the sub outputs a 3D effect where you could literally track bass detail around the room even from behind which my previous sub could only dream of doing.
How long did it take you to break in your sub? I use my sub heavily every day, but yet it took 6 months for it to really open up. The sub, just kept getting louder and more punchier over the months. One can not go wrong with the purchase of the DXD-12012.

I was going to buy more Klipsch speakers, but now I am trying to sell them to get KK fronts, rears, 1 more sub and a front projector.

It's funny you mentioned the 3d effect I was so shocked by it that I asked around if its design had something to do with it, as I really couldn't explain what it was doing. It took about the same time for the drivers to fully loosen from Dec-March with daily playing and it did get louder and deeper, one owner said it was about 3db. I plan on a second hopefully around the first of the year as well, did you corner load with the side driver facing the wall?

An Audyssey recalibration lowered sub volume by 3db. The DXD 12012 seems to love being corner loaded with the driver facing the wall in my room. Another thing I love about the DXD is that its extremely easy to setup. Just stick in a corner and ta da you're done.

Yes indeed almost plug n play biggrin.gif and the ability to add more from what I understand is just as easy as Ken has already done the work . I do see over time I may ( wishful thinking here) do a full stack eek.gif but for now I've just got to hear the pulsar effect when stacking two cool.gif
