The last I checked 400+400=800...some of you guys really like to stand in the back ground waiting to nit pick a post. Can you answer the question about the driver?

F25 has the 1501 drivers. You can pay extra for for the 1505s or 1510s. 1510 drivers have 20mm xmax although you would need a bigger amp to make use of the extra excursion.

Any noticeable difference heard between upgrading the drivers?

Yeah if each driver only gets 400 watts supplied to it from the amp what would be the point of upgrading the driver to one with more xmax?

I'm sure if it made a significant difference wouldn't Brian have just used the better driver to start with?

Hey Brian I would like to buy a F25 but I’m wondering if you might be able to upgrade the drivers and amp? If so, is there a chance we might discuss the veneer options also? We can talk about the feet afterwards. smile.gif

There shouldn't be any noticeable difference between the drivers, but the single dish ones (DS1505 and DS1510) do look nicer to me. The DS1510 would likely do slightly better with long term power compression given the larger dia voicecoil and greater power handing although it's unlikely you would ever run into trouble with a pair of F25s, certainly not with movies.

Steve - you are joking right. For the benefit of anyone reading this - I'm not Brian. There is no bigger amp than the HX800XLR3 at present.

There could be a qualitative difference as well as a output difference, but how much, I don't know, that is something to PM Brian about.

It has been said a number of times that the drivers all sound very similar. The biggest advantage of going to DS1510s is a potential amp upgrade in the future (Brian has suggested an F25HP might be on the cards although this is probably a long way off)...

I think a great sub would be dual opposed DS1510s. Big drivers, cabinet cancellation, and a more manageable size and form than the regular F25.

Dedicated 20'x14'x8' Theater Room with two rows of seats
133" 16x9 Da-Lite screen
Sony VPL-HW30ES projector
Anthem MRX700
(2) Klipsch RF-82II's
(1) Klipsch RC-64II
(2) Klipsch RS-52II's
Paradigm Sub 25 (running on 240v)

I have an interested offer for my Paradigm Sub 25 at around $1900 (profit, after shipping and sales fees). I could throw in a maximum of $1000 more, so my total budget for a subwoofer upgrade is around $2900.
In that price range is there anything (or things plural) that will make switching away from my Sub 25 worth it? I will do dual subs if that's the best route.

Been out of the "game" for a while so not sure where to look/what to compare to.
Thanks!

*UPDATE*
Here is what my choices are narrowed down to:
- Paradigm SUB 2 ($3995)
- JTR Captivator S2 ($3000)
- PSA Triax ($2800)
- DUAL Rythmik F25's (~ $2800) or DUAL Rythmik FV15HP's (~$2600)
- Seaton Submersive HP (~ $2450)
- SVS PB13-Ultra ($2000)

Subwoofer(s) will be movie use only

I know its an old thread, but from where can I get a sub 2 for 4K?

I am looking to upgrade my sub 12, My option is a single sub since I am from australia, shipping would be the killer for me. plus apart from paradigm i dont know any other above stated subs comes with a 22V power supply.

I have two Sub 25's that I wouldn't mind selling if someone is interested. I live in naples,fl and I won't ship, to heavy. I have all the boxes and such. I would take $4000 for both of them, any body interested, private message me.
