Will this be a good upgrade? Its already set in motion, so no turning back. I have heard the Elemental Designs a2-300 subs are a lot better. (I know they shut down)

I wouldn't get ED for the reason you already know. Look into Rythmik, SVS, PSA, HSU offerings.

Yeah I know they didn't end well. I already have one of the eD a2-300's. The ones im buying were before they had amp issues. I really really like it. Just wondering if they'll perform better than the Klipsch subs for movies/games. Will the eD's dig deeper?

Perhaps a bit of googling will yield some answers. I did a quick search and found its rated down to 18hz, so yes it digs deeper then the klipsch. smile.gif

Yeah I did search it, but specs and real world performance don't always line up. I was hoping someone who's owned both might be on here. smile.gif

ED was a great company with great subs; better than any Klipsch sub any day. Is this reassuring? What is your budget?

I've already set buying the eD's in motion (gonna end up with four of em). I am just looking for a break down of the performance difference between them. Something a bit more detailed than a few specs.

While I don't have experience with the particular unit your buying, I have experience with their other products they sold and for the most part they were pretty solid units. As I am sure we all know, there is much to be said about the company as a whole and what happened, however, that is not going to be helpful to answer your question. They made a pretty great product in my opinion and I was never disappointed with what I used from them. Personally I only used their car audio stuff but I have a few friends that have some of their home audio equipment and I have a rw-12d myself

I am sure that you are moving away from the rw12-d because it is a little "boomy", doesn't go quite as low as you had hoped, and just its tight enough. If those are your qualms with the Klipsch, I think you will be happy with the ED units, provided you got them for a good price. Its a great unit and can be had at a good price now, so I would say dependent on what you paid, it will be an upgrade that you will be happy with. Of course, there are other options out there that are better but you start getting into a lot of money for a marginal return.

I hope that this helps, I know its not super detailed, just my personal experience with the two brands, let us know how you like them!
