I have one here that I am looking at for a friend. The complaint is distorted sound. When a driver doesn't sound right the first thing I look at is the surround foam or rubber. The surround looks OK and feels pliable enough but the cones movement in the voice coil seems way to stiff. I have never seen a driver come even close to the force required to move this one even slightly. I'm hopeing someone here has one that can confirm what I'm seeing. Thanks,

Chip

Does it happen at low volume? If so, maybe the amp is busted.
