Hope everyone is doing well! I just moved into my new house and the basement is a man cave dream come true.
800-900sqft of open space and I have the theater already set up!
Mitsubishi HC4900 paired with a 100inch screen. SVS-SCS-01's across the front with SBS-01s as surrounds, and a PB-13Ultra as my boom box. All dialed in to a nice 75db.
Last night I watched IRONMAN 3 as my first movie in the new space and wow did it sound amazing....except one aspect....the bass. It was there, but my rumbling boom was sort of gone.
The room is large and open, volume probably pushing 4500cu ft, and my subwoofer placement is along the wall where the screen is, but unfortunately I have no real corner near. Also, my seating is 10.5ft from the screen, but the couch is no where near the back wall, thus we are kind of sitting in the middle of the room...
I plan to get home and get out Room EQ Wizard and try to figure out what is going on....but I fear the problem might be the sheer volume of the room, and what my expectations are for the sub.
Right now it is dialed in at 75db, gain is at about 1/4 of the way up, phase at 0.
We'll see...I'll report back....but in the meantime...does anyone else have this sub in a room this size and shape? Thoughts, Comments, Suggestions
