Which would you choose?

I like tight clear base

1. Infinity Primus PS410 ($150)
2. Klipsch RPW-10 ($160)

Please dont refer others as these are the only 2 I can choose from right now.

Infinity Primus PS410:
- 300W RMS amp
- 10" driver
- 27-150Hz +/-3dB

Klipsch RPW-10:
- 200W continuous amp
- 10" driver
- 35-120Hz +/-3dB

Based on the specs, I'd take the PS410.

-- Edit --
I checked the owner's manual and it does say +/-3dB. So I'll update my previous post.

I don't know what purely technical difference there is, if any, but the two terms (continuous and RMS) seem to be used interchangeably to indicate an amplifier's steady-state (as opposed to peak) power rating.

Based on the specs, I'd take the PS410.
Based on the very limited available specs there's no way to make an informed choice. Based on the price I wouldn't have high hopes for either.

The question was "Which [of the two] would you choose?", not "Are the available specs sufficient to make an informed choice?"

Price favours the Infinity; the specs appear to favour it, too.

Based on your request, the Infinity Primus PS410 but due to your limitations, I suspect you won't get your wish.

Such as they are, but as they leave out all the important details necessary to actually compare what the two are capable of they're of little to no value. That said, for the same driver size, similar cabinet size, less than a 2:1 power differential and a similar suggested retail price there's likely no significant difference between them.

So, what you appear to be saying - in a much more verbose way than basshead81 did - is "flip a coin". Fair enough. smile.gif

According to the product page:
- 55W continuous amp
- 10" driver
- 29-120Hz +/-3dB

I'd pass on it.

I'm not sure you are going to get tight clear bass with either of the choices, not sure it can be had at such prices. But of the two I would take the PS410.

^ what's your budget and how large is your room?

Right off the bat I would say if you can swing it I would look at HSU and SVS. It's a bit more but I think in order to get what you want you have to increase the budget.

I had a feeling it was those. Abit pricey for me. Is there are online source that I may find for cheaper? I live in Canada

I checked and can only find Boston Acoustic, Kef and Mordaunt.

Are all these better options?

I can't really say I have never heard any of them. I have never even heard of Mordaunt. Perhaps this link to the Velodyne site and their refurbished subs. The impact 12 looks pretty good and the impact 10 has a good review over at Audioholics, its an old review but it might give you an idea.

The HSU STF-1 and Outlaw M8 offer pretty good performance for subs under $300. How large a room you trying to fill?
