I am not even going to ask about the F12 / PSW505 debate as I think I read every one of those threads twice. It basically looks like it is a tossup between the two, Polk may be a little better for music while the BIC may be a little better for HT however I don't think one will wow you over the other. They are both now for sale for $180 shipped from newegg. I can also get the Lava LSP12 for $170 shipped which had a favorable review when it was $340ish. I cancelled my Lava order but now not sure if I should reorder. Looking for something under $200, we all have to start somewhere and this is replacing a $300 Samsung soundbar. I will have Monitor 70 mains, Monitor 60s surround, and CS2 Center. Have not yet decided on a receiver.

What is the most important to you. Music or Movie Performance? None of those subs will dig particularly deep for movies though I suspect the Polk may have the deepest extension while the Lava (IMO) will sound the best with music and have the most output. The Lava compares favorably against the BIC PL200 which is the F12's more powerful sibling so that is also worth considering.

My first and second choices would be the Lava and Polk.

I would say half and half on music and ht. I am leaning towards the Lava as like you said, neither will hit really down low yet the Lava has higher output.

The Lava would be my choice as well. My neighbor has the PSW505. Definitely a good deal for $179, but my guess is that the Lava would be better.

I recommend a receiver that has Audyssey MultEQ or MultEQ XT. Many of the Denon models do. The advantage of Audyssey is that it will also apply EQ filters to the sub, helping it to have a better frequency response in your room. You can get excellent deals on factory refurbished/factory warrantied Denons from accessories4less.com. And if that could help you to save money you had planned for the receiver, get two Lava subs biggrin.gif

If its between the three I would say the Lava and then the Polk and the BIC last.

I would agree that could be a potential contender at this price point, except almost no one has experience with the SUB 1500. Whereas there are lots of testimonials for the F12, PSW505, and LSP12.
