I'm planning on purchasing a sub for music (no HT use) and am wondering which one of these two is the most musical. That doesn't necessarily mean most accurate. More like which one is most fun to listen to? For the record, I listen to classical, blues, classic rock, and jazz.

Both of these subwoofers feature a 10" speaker and seem to have a reputation for being musical. I defer to your experience, oh experts. lol!

I'd like to keep it restricted to these 2 models, but if you suggest something else, PLEASE keep in mind I only want to listen to music and want a fun experience (bass extension, fast, and can fill a room) ; not an analytical/flat one.

Max budget as you can see is $350.

How you set up your sub will be the largest determining factor regarding its "musicality". Your crossover point, the location of the sub, whether you run your speakers as small or full range—these are key factors. What sort of speakers are you using, what does the rest of your system consist of?

My amp is an Arcam AVR-350. Temporarily, my bookshelf PSB Alpha 300i will serve as mains but I`ll be changing these for something else in a few months (not sure what).

Having heard both, I'd go for the HSU myself.

Care to elaborate? Just wondering what the pros and cons are for both and would definitely be interested in what you have to say on the subject. smile.gif
