Hey guys, I'm close to pulling the trigger on a SVS PB-1000 sub for my 16X16X8 room....but I came across this certified refurbished Velodyne EQ-Max 8 Inch Subwoofer that's for sale $376.00 near my home....Can anyone draw a comparison? I'll be watching 70/Movies/TV and 30/Music. I have Polk RM6700 sat speakers.....replacing a HTIB Polk PSW250 sub. Thanks for your advice!

EQ-Max 8
- 8" driver
- 180W RMS amp
- 32-120 Hz +/-3dB

PB-1000
- 10" driver
- 300W RMS amp
- 19-270Hz +/-3dB

My drawing is of a PB-1000 crushing an EQ-Max 8. smile.gif

Not even close between the two. The PB1000 would stomp all over the EQ Max 12".

The SVS PB-1000 is the best sub for under $500 based on several reviews I have read. Then the Rythmic LV12R being the best sub under $600.

I would go with the SVS PB-1000 without a doubt or hesitation. Best of all it's SVS so you have free shipping and a 45 day in home trial period so if you don't like it you can return it with no cost to you. That type of customer service makes it an easy choice.
