He's very busy. He's really a one man army. But it's like getting your speakers custom made. And being made by one person assures consistency in build quality. If you think you'll get a email from him the day after, forget it. There's other people in line waiting for response.
So I'm sure he replies by the earlier dates. Just gotta be prepared that you won't get a answer right away. When I was in the market for JTR subs, I knew replies won't come right away. But he does reply. And when I was ready, I called, left a massage that I was very interested, that I was going to call back again. Left my name and number just in case. Then when I called he answered. Very nice guy. But I suggest, when your ready, I mean ready to make a purchase, and you get in contact with him by phone, JUST DO IT! And once your a customer, he'll never leave you hanging. Believe me everyone wants the JTR line. Hang at the JTR thread, you wouldn't believe there's repeated customers there.. smile.gif

Makes sense. I didn't know that there was going to be a price increase. I need to hurry up and get in touch with Jeff. Thanks guys for letting me know.

You definitely be fine.. There's even JTR sub owners running S2 and OS off a 15a circuit.

Congratulations of such a stellar purchase. Did you go with one or a pair of Cap 2400s?

Lol. I actually went with a s2. I wanted the extension and it has the same output as a 2400 so I was sold on it.

From the gate, you're going be sooooo happy with a S2. I can't wait to read your first impressions. Again, congratulations on such a fine purchase.

Thanks and I can't wait for my first impressions either! Now I need to find a helper to get that beast up the stairs when it comes. No way I would trust my wife to even try to help me. Shipping weight is about 195lbs, so I am thinking that the sub is maybe around 175lbs or so. Hopefully lighter because that is really heavy.

If you can't get help, unscrew the drivers. Taking those two drivers out will lighten the box considerable. Blackmambakila took the three drivers out of his Triax subs.

Do those triax subs have the same driver as the submersive?

My understanding, the Triax drivers are a special, third generation driver, designed for specific use in the Triax. It was quite a discussing at the time of rollout. The rollout was delayed due to the drivers being redesigned due to driver manufacturer changes made at the last hour. It got a bit hairy in the end but the net result was a specially created, just for the Triax, driver.

Did they have to redesign them because they were close to the submersive drivers or for another reason? Why did it get "a bit hairy"? People wanted their subs or did it have to do with Seaton?

Nothing to do with Seaton. IIRC, the manufacture of the original design, failed to deliver on promised delivery. So Tom went to a new manufacture/supplier and in doing so, added changes to the design to match what they had learned about the original design. The net result was a delayed shipping date but a much improved driver design.

In the end, buyers of the Triax were given a driver that was "special" to the Triax......for no extra charge. biggrin.gif

FI designed and builds the drivers from the Triax as far as I know, I believe JTR's drivers for their subs are also from FI.

I see. So how does that sub sound? What is it comparable to?

Not a clue in either of those departments. You'd have to step over to the Triax thread and ask those guys.
