Yesterday, a Norwegian SVS distributor released information on two new SVS subs that will be available from Jan 8th, 2014: PB-2000 and SB-2000.
http://www.lsound.no/nyheter/svs2000series_no/

This seems to be the successors of PB12-NSD and SB12-NSD, although it is not written explicitly.

The prices in Norwegian crowns (NOK) are 5.990 NOK ($975) for SB-2000 and 6.990 NOK ($1137) for PB-2000, and these prices include Norwegian VAT (25%) and shipping to home. Please note that SVS subwoofers are significantly more expensive here in Europe than in the US, so I wouldn't take these prices as indicators for the US pricing.

Details (in Norwegian -- use Google Translate if your Norwegian is rusty... ;-) can be read on:
PB-2000: http://www.lsound.no/hoyttalere/subwoofere/svs-pb12-nsd-dsp-black-charcoal-1617.html
SB-2000: http://www.lsound.no/hoyttalere/subwoofere/svs-pb12-nsd-dsp-black-charcoal-1618.html

For convenience, I will paste some translations below:

2000 series from SVS is hereby unveiled!
SVS is back on track with new subwoofers. This time it is a medium compact and super compact 12 "subwoofer series with integrated amplifier and DSP who are ready to give enthusiasts new and exciting film and music experience. The acting appears to be dry, with large and clean definition and authority, while remaining balanced and fast. Subs have very little egenlyd, and this, together with the powerful DSP, makes hardly be transparent and credible.

Extreme performance / price
Both PB-2000 and SB-2000 is equipped with the same 500W DSP amplifier, and the newly developed 12 "long stroke element from SVS. Sledge STA-500D is an energy-economic class D amplifier, which delivers 500 conservative and lavforvrengte watts and can take dynamic peaks up to 1100 watts when necessary. Speaker item with heavy rubber surround and frame in powder-coated aluminum has a number of innovative technical features which mainly involves keeping the element under control and reduce noise, non-linearity and distortion. The item is oversized where high temperatures can be a challenge, and thus will never experience a warm and stressed subwoofer starts playing distorted and instability noise and noise. Another neat touch is the integrated kabellissene to the voice coil, which eliminates the problem of noise and impact noise, which can be a real problem with hard use, even in otherwise expensive and fine subwoofers.

Structures
PB-2000 is about 30% larger than the SB-2000, but the specifications are otherwise quite similar. The exception is mainly the size and cabinet construction. PB-2000 is a bass reflex design with 4 "port while the SB-2000 is a closed construction. Port design of the PB-2000 involves large surface area and rounded flanges, eliminating the annoying whistle sounds and port noise. SB-2000 is closed, but despite this it is nevertheless deeply and with great authority, without the extreme distortion which unfortunately often characterizes small closed structures. Both models are available in black eikefinish, with removable rubber feet and a stylish curved grill. PB-2000 has external dimensions not exceeding 60cm while the SB-2000 is below 40cm. Because of cabinet construction and size, they naturally enough, a little different style of play, but both are they capable to take on all kinds of music and film genres.

Market leading rates
The price is, in known SVS-style, very favorable and reflect in any way the performance you can expect from an affordable subwoofer. The series is aggressively priced compared to how they look and especially how they perform. Prices are respectively 5990, - SB-2000 and 6990 - for PB-2000 including free shipping.

Exactly my thought! Can it really be possible to squeeze such frequencies out of the small sealed SB-2000 box?! If so, why would anyone buy the much bigger and more expensive PB-2000?

^ ^ For the higher output above port tune. When someone gets their hands on these to independently test, we'll see if they have meaningful output at these frequencies.

Thanks for posting this @JStockholm.

Will have to see what kind of output we're looking at, but I have faith in SVS putting out yet another couple great products. Although, not sure I like the metal grills; they look great, but I find they tend to fall out more than the more typical MDF/Fabric versions.

The PB1000 has a mesh grille.  I have a feeling the 2000 series might be mesh.  Might be a slight cost saving measure to focus more on getting a bit more performance while keeping the price point below 799 shipped.  Just my guess.

No need to get feelings involved when you can clearly see on the photos on lsound.no that the 2000 series has metal grills. wink.gif

Any more comments from people comparing the SB-2000 to the SB12-NSD? The SB-2000 is a little pricier. BOTH are still in stock. Curious to know if anyone has been able to compare or has heard both?

Is it just me or do the SVS logos on the woofers look terrible? I mean I know the old PB12's had them too, but they were a little more subtle.
