I'd still like to get the actual HxWxD measurements if anyone has it. Does the grill really stick out 3 inches? 20% of the depth of the sub seems large for a grill. However, if it sounds good at that size I don't think many people will complain about that. wink.gif I'd also appreciate anyone's opinion on how it sounds in a real room.

I would also like to see a pic of one with this grill. The PB1000 I am going to replace has a cloth grill and the stock photo of the new grill on the PB2000 looks a bit odd/cheap to me for some reason. So if someone gets one I would love to see a pic of it in a room, etc.

The grill looks metallic to me? I don't have a problem with that if that is indeed the case.

Yea, it could either be metallic or plastic. I have a feeling it is one of those things where it looks fine in person, but in the stock photo with all of the lights directed at the front, it looks a bit ugly to me.

It is metal. SVS does this to protect the driver from pets, kids etc. Seems people either love it or hate it.

I ordered an SB2000 last week and according to the shipment tracking it left Denmark (on its way to Stockholm, Sweden) yesterday, meaning that it probably will be delivered tomorrow or latest Friday. Will get back once it's in place. Hopefully Friday evening Swedish time (=Friday Morning in the US).

That sounds great. I look forward to the measurements and your impression of how it sounds. Pics would be nice too.

For those of you that upgraded (or have tested) the new PB2000 how would you grade them relative to the the PB12-NSD?  Since they replaced the PB12-NSD and have more power, I'm sure its a safe bet that they are an improvement, but how much do you notice the upgrade in actual performance?  I'm looking to get one or the other, and the PB12-NSD are available about $200 cheaper than the PB2000.

I noticed in the manual for these subs that it says the SB2000 comes in piano black as well...

There is a first impressions of the PB-2000 at Audioholics:

i've level matched them, i have a subwoofer switcher, but they are in different locations (see pic)

anyway, i've watched several scenes on both.

initial comments:
1) seems to hit harder than the pb12nsd, and i'm not talking about extension. the midbass seems fuller.
2) the PB12NSD sounds really quiet but shakes the room. the PB2000 does the shaking but includes a little bit of chest kick (almost sounds sealed-like)

Yup...and I am sure some of the AVS faithful will say that Mike has a bias being a Svs overseas retailer....Mike has always being a straight shooter both as a member & moderator there. Unlike a certain dark cloud member that follows certain Svs and PSA threads and makes a mockery of things both here and there. I ordered my dual PB-2000s last night and sending back the 1000s I just opened ha. I received them on Christmas Eve but just hooked them up a few days before I saw the 2000s came out. Love how this company operates and how easy it is to make the upgrade.

I was very pleased with the quality of the 1000s but I think I want a little more punch. These look to be truly fantastic and I can't wait to hear em.

Will do, I just watched riddick last night and that was a pretty heavy bass filled movie so it'll be nice to jump to the spots I saved when the new ones get here. They said they'll be shipped out Monday or Tuesday next week.

So I'm thinking of getting one of the new pb-2000. I already have an RW-12D. Do you guys think I should sell the RW from the beginning and just have the one, or wait until I am ready to buy another pb-2000 to sell the RW?

Basically, could running rw + pb be worse in any way than just running pb?

keep the RW12d as a dual until you are ready to upgrade that. I run it with my PC12-NSD. The only thing keeping me from replacing the NSD for the 2000 is style.

Sony KDL-70R550A (passive 3D tv)
Denon x4000 (amazing sound correcting software)
Klipsch RF-62IIs (amazing horns)
Klipsch RC-62II (so clear)
Klipsch RS-41IIs (so full)
SVS PC12-NSD + Klipsch RW12d (so boom)

Anyone here or receive their FedEx shipping notice yet? I'm tempted to call but would rather their time be spent on getting my SB-2000 to its new home. My pb-1000 was refunded so I know its getting close!

Thanks for the info. Yeah I'll probably do that. I'm trying to decide on placement now. I may have room to put one of the subs in the opposite end of the room, which is supposed to help when running duals. I just need to decide which one to run by the couch, and which one up front. I'm not sure how much difference it will make, but hopefully some here have insight.

Doesn't look cheap to me at all.

And in person my PB1000's look great as well.

I think I do prefer the metal grill tho.

Can't wait. I'll have both sets of subs for 45 days if I wish before I sent the PB1000's back. I think I will stack them for fun wink.gif

In Spain just sold the first unit SVS PB-2000, next week I have to go home to install the client. Incidentally it proves thoroughly and I can give you some references as compared to the PB12-NSD.

I loved the look of my 1000s and these appear to be just as nice but I'll most likely leave the grills off. Doesn't matter much in a dark dedicated room but the 1000s did look better in person. My two 2000s will be shipping Monday. Can't wait

Personally, I don't know but the comment you quoted forward comes across as an answered question as opposed to a question hanging out there for answer.

Personally, my recommendation is buy a pair of the biggest and baddest subwoofers that a person can afford. And if upgrading a subwoofer system, make a major upgrade as opposed to baby steps to the next level or two.

Why not purchase a matching PB13 Ultra?
