A dual opposed with a pair of these and a 1k amp sounds rather interesting...

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

Jim, Paul had it on a Crown XLS-2500 in bridged mono at 4 ohms. At severe clipping it was barely showing signs of audible strain but of course no damage. 1000w RMS would just be fine on one. 2000w would be acceptable and preferred. I would think two of them could handle something like an Inuke 6000 in stereo with ease. FS was around 24 hz before break in.

We will see when it gets here AND when I have time to play with it.

Hmm.... Are you saying that the PV-15x sounds better than the PS-215x, even to someone who normally prefers sealed subs?

On music the 215x still has the advantage. The PV15x has the edge on movies. No surprise there. I just did not expect the ported model to come as close as it does on music.

It also depends on the room. My listening area is a living room that opens up into the kitchen dining room and a fourier. Basically an area 32x45 ft. The PV15x drives it more effortlessly.

How is he keeping the travel linear, dual spiders I suppose? That's what JL Audio did with the E112.

If im not mistaken, its a single 10" spider on a 4" voice coil with a 2.75" winding height. Probably not as linear as the jl audio drivers but Im betting its still fairly controlled.

Since my theater room is 15'x16'x(8' to 9') I'm guessing I'll still prefer dual PS-215x. They'll probably make my room crumble and/or explode anyway.

I didn't see if it was mentioned, but any plans to send the PV15x out for testing? This may be one of two subs I'm deciding between.

Thanks Jeremy! Yeah I haven't received any email from Fed Ex, and I'm sure my order has my correct email address since I was getting your order status emails correctly. Since the code you sent isn't working on fedex.com, perhaps it's just not in their system yet.

subwoofer orientation

I have the BPS-212. I'm wondering if it matters if you position the subwoofer so the drivers are pointing front/back into the room or left/right? I currently have them pointed left/right so as to have the amp and cables running into the back and less out of sight. The sub is also in the back right corner of the room, if that matters. Thanks.

Anyone that has had a BPS 212 arrive lately, how long did it take to ship from the day that you ordered?

I ordered over a month ago, and sent an email to reaction audio 2 days ago with no reply, and I need to have some sort of idea of when my subs will ship, because I need to drive to the US from Canada to pick them up so any kind of information here would be helpful.

Edit: I don't really even care when they arrive, I just need to know if it will be 1 week, 2 weeks, 6 weeks?

Your order should be there in 1 to 2 weeks tops.
You will get a fulfillment notice usually 24 hrs before shipping so you will be able to coordinate the arrival.

I'm sorry I did not see your email, but my inbox has been spammed a bit lately so it may very well have been my fault. I try to get back to everyone within 24 hrs if I can.

If you ever need to reach me quicker, call at 1 888 315 3437. Leave a message if noone picks up right away and I will call back!

Jeremy and I have had several conversations in the past few months, and I can assure you he is not adverse to speaking with anyone at (almost) any time. If you aren't able to reach him via PM or email you should do as he suggests and call. He doesn't consider it an imposition.

Website updated to include amplifier options for the PS 215x:

Dayton SPA 1000 built in plate amplifier
Dayton SA 1000 rack mount external amplifier

The rack mount version adds a few features:
The subsonic filter at 18hz is user-defeatable
Switchable bass boost at 25 hz
Line level outs

I have also created a "Passive Subwoofer" section with the 215 available as a passive unit.
Recommended power is between 700 - 2000w RMS

Probably not. The updated drivers are a bit better.
Besides, we don't really make any money on the 300w version as it is.

It is challenging for a USA based ID company to produce a hand-built cabinet subwoofer, package it and ship it for less than $600. You have to figure that each box costs around $65 to ship on average.
Add packing materials and things like 16 magnets for the grills which are about $1 each and you can see what a value we are trying to offer.

With the July promotions, and the discount for duals: a pair runs around 800 right now. I think that's a pretty good value for what we are offering. So the original 212 isn't that much cheaper.

One forum member who bought a pair happens to own an XS30 and a pair of PB-13 ultras.
He told me that he unplugged those three subs and tried the 212s in their place. I was shocked to hear him say that the pair actually still filled the room and were quite satisfying.
Was the extension, accuracy and output the same? I highly doubt it. Those are really nice, more expensive subs.

But there is bang for the buck there and that was the desired goal.
