Sub is on the way, but I need to get a cable for it. Since the BPS 212 doesn't have a dedicated LFE input, is there any advantage to using a cable with a Y-split? Or is a single cable (looking at this one) fine?

It should have a dedicated lfe , I believe the turbo and non turbo both used same brand amp just bigger on the turbo , the left RCA in should be lfe in, that is my thought right now, you might want to verify that with Jeremy.

I concur! Waiting sucks, but it you will be very please with the performance, look and price paid for this sub. Don't forget to report back as soon you have it at home and you had the chance to test it with the rest of your system.

+1 You are correct on that, my BPS 212 Turbo has a LFE - which is the left RCA in the "Input In" connectors at the amp.

By the way - is anyone taking advantage of the 4th of July sale? Man, it is very tempting........but, with the purchase of the Turbos and a summer trip it seems I'll miss this opportunity. What about you Aarghon? Are your ready to run quad subs at your home?

C'mon man, don't disappoint me on this one!!!

Thanks yeah I saw the left RCA input was labeled as such, but curious if I am sending a less powerful signal by only using it. Why do some subs have a third input dedicated to lfe?

I have to say, that PV15X looks like it would be an awesome end table subwoofer. It reminds me of a 'super' Hsu VTF3 with its side-firing driver. A great setup: two of those suckers flanking the sides of an armchair with woofers firing in toward the listener. What an ass-kicking that would give. Someone out there needs to make that happen.

LFE is a mono signal. The reason there are a left/right is because some people () use a stereo pre-amp L/R output though most bass is recorded mono.

aznattic has two firsts coming:

He requested a piano black gloss finish, which we may soon add as a custom option for an up-charge on all cabinets. Probably $300 for the 15" units and $200 for the 12" units. This is a real furniture grade finish with many polished layers.

We can also do arctic white paint, with either white or black grills.
This option will only be a small charge.

He is also getting the first PS 215x with a passive cabinet and the Dayton SA 1000 rackmount amp, which is an option added to the site.

The passive 215s are now listed under a different category under "Passive Subwoofers".
There are no discounts for duals as they are priced very low for what they are. The first gentleman who ordered a pair of these will be using them with a Behringer Inuke 6000DSP. I'm hoping to get him to come here and post his impressions of that setup.

Sorry about that, I saw that last night too.
I am going to call them and see if there's a way to expedite it en route.
I have to call them today anyways.

We'll get it there before the weekend if we possibly can!!

Hmm ok I admit I can't think about how humongous and cool quads would be... I need a way to make more money to have a home and blast them to oblivion! I mean, blast them until the neighbor's garden plants need repotting from jumping

But I do think Kdoto requested a while ago about quad subs... Did he actually pull the plug on quads?

No, not yet. Jeremy is still trying to get caught up with customer demand, so we haven't made any arrangements. Hopefully that will be soon though because my review queue is filling up quickly (I work on a first-come-first-served basis, so the order in which I receive the units is the same order I evaluate them). Right now I have two sitting at my house and another on the way next week, which is 2-3 months of work right there, so at this moment September would be the earliest I could get to it.

I'll reach out to Jeremy and see what his thoughts on the matter are. I know there are a lot of people anxious for me to publish something, so perhaps he and I can address that. One of us will post something here regarding what we were able to set up.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

Jeremy, you may have mentioned this before but I didn't see it: wondering what do you suggest as far as a break-in period? 15 hours?

The 212 should sound pretty good out of the box, but after 10-20 hours the surrounds should begin to loosen a bit and the sub should reach it's deepest potential.

Let me know what you think of it when you get it fired up!

Absolutely! It's in the box (looks like the box is in pretty good condition, so kudos to Fedex for that) right now, sitting downstairs, calling to me... too bad I have work to finish up.

help needed

I've noticed that when my AV receiver is turned off and my sub (BPS-212) "powers off" it won't power back on unless I unplug the sub cable and plug it back in. The LED light remains red and no sound comes out. Even if I unplug the power cable the light remains red for some time. My last sub used the same sub cable without problems so I doubt its the cable. There aren't really any settings on the sub. I'm wondering if it could be any type of setting on the AVR. Shouldn't the sub automatically turn on? Thanks.

it should turn on automatically when it detects the signal. Mine does but I find it takes a fair bit of a bass signal to switch on. The amp specs on parts express claim just 1/2 watt but I feel like that number is low.

When the sub is in standby mode (red light on) it needs to wake up by having a strong bass signal comes through like Rrskda said. Sometimes just a little volume spike will turn it on. If you have your receiver sub out set low (-5 db for ex) you could try raising it to 0 or +3db and turning the sub gain down accordingly. That could produce a slightly stronger input signal at lower volumes in theory. Let me know if that helps?

The PV 15X looks very interesting. Anyone know how it compared to something like the PSA XV15se? I guess without CEA2010 measurements it's tough to say, but this appears to be a monster

We just sent one to Josh Ricci of Data-bass.com to receive a full battery of CEA 2010 testing.
He probably won't get to it for a week or two, but we did speak on the phone.
He seemed optimistic, based on the sheer displacement capability of the driver (Over 2.75 inches peak to peak travel), the size of the enclosure and the powerful 1000w amp. That should be enough to put it in the top tier of commercial ported subs. The only variable I see is that the Dayton, being a class AB amp may do better on long term sweeps than on the burst. However, the Dayton did very well in the CHT VS-18.1 tests with Paul Appolonio a few years back. And that was being run at 500w into 8 ohms.

That being said, if it ranks well among the XV15, FV15 hp, PB-13U and VTF-15 but doesn't come out with the best numbers of the group, that is good company to be in as all are excellent subs and I would be honored to just have it rank well among them.

It just occurred to me those are a whole lot of similar letter/number combinations.
I probably should have come up with a more original name!
