Also I'm really looking forward to Jim's review.

They should probably ship out any day now.

I can sort of review them, but I don't have the equipment to do the measurements/graphs and what not. And right now, I have a Pioneer receiver that doesn't do sub EQ, so until I get an Anti-Mode or mini-DSP that's another thing I'll be missing. I'll only be able to compare to other subs I have, have had or have heard.

But recall Jeremy saying that his BPS 215 was probably in the same ballpark as the Epik Empire. If you go by specs, you'd probably have to conclude that this is going to be in the same realm of performance as the Legend......and he's offering it for the same price except he's paying the shipping bill (IIRC, the Legends were $499 each, $899 for duals plus shipping). So something similar in price/performance to a Legend but without the amplifier problems fills a pretty nice niche. FWIW, there is a Legend in my house but it belongs to my roommate and I don't really want to mess with his stuff and move his setup around. I have heard it and it's very impressive for its size/price, but the Amp runs hot and I wouldn't be surprised to see it quit any day now.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself because I don't have the subs yet, but I'm just going by what Jeremy said: there won't be anything world changing about his subs. They should perform about as well as you'd expect from a sub with those drivers and enclosure size. He's just offering great value at his respective price points.

I'm really wanting to see a review on the BPS 215 or just get someone's feedback on its performance.

Receiver - Denon 4311CI
Speakers - Infinity P363's, PC351, P153's
Subs - Rythmik FV15HP's

Me too.

Thanks honda, just getting your impressions would be great. As people start getting these subs and we start getting some general impressions it'll give us a decent idea of what they're like. I believe Jim is set to do a review pretty soon and that will be helpful as we.

You're outting Jeremy??? For those who don't know Jeremy's last name is Edge, and you can find some info about him here.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

Sue is lucky enough to be receiving the first "Turbo" edition and the rest of the units slated to go out won't be too far behind.
We have been running about a week behind due to some medical issues in the family (Everything is going to be ok now) and we also have discovered that our hard candy-like top coat takes about 4 days to cure properly.
So it's better not to move or touch them during that curing process. I have sent an email update to all that have ordered to keep everyone in the loop.

Here is a pic of Sue's sub with the grills attached:

Yes Sue has just discovered I also play guitar for the band "Candlelight Red". smile.gif
Small world! lol

I have not decided yet which sub to send Josh.
We are working out the logistics on a single ported sub and if it's ready by the time Josh is, we will have a good dilemma.

The ported model would have an advantage in the 20-30hz area, the 215 sealed has a clear advantage above 40hz and is a midbass impact monster.
I am thinking since the majority of ID subs he has reviewed with built in plate amplification are indeed ported, that it could possibly give the best "apples to apples" comparison.

But if he is ready before we are I am certainly up for testing the 215 sealed as well. We'll just have to play it by ear.
We are a relatively small shop launching two new products this month and we don't want to take on too much at once.

Because they are closing out the standard bps212 in favor of the turbo bps212.

Hmmm. Would feel a bit uncomfortable with exposed drivers.

Would something like this fit over the openings? (For example, removing a few of the driver screws out and putting the grills on with longer replacement screws?)

It seems that folks favor the updated version 10 to one.
So after some deliberation, we decided we really didn't need two versions of the same model.
The "Turbo" edition was inspired from much of the feedback we received here and other forums.
This will be less confusing on the website and also will allow us to concentrate on expanding the line in the coming months and make room for other designs/ form factors.

We have about 10 cabinets remaining for the 200w RMS version that we are clearing out at a reduced price.
We will still be able to stock plenty of parts for warranty in the unfortunate and unlikely event that anyone needs a new driver or amplifier.

The original version did not have grills, and unfortunately the finished boxes for that version do not have the necessary magnets installed, so the magnetic grills will not work.

The updated and what will soon be the only version of the 212 will all ship with magnetically attached cloth grills.

There are close to two dozen "Turbo" editions getting ready to be boxed up as we speak. A few of them I believe are going to forum members.

Many of the folks who bought the standard version when it was introduced were not forum members to my knowledge, although I believe two stopped in to post their impressions.

Hopefully some of the folks receiving this next shipment will share their impressions here.

$329 is super cheap for those originals on clearance. Still waiting for more pictures of the Turbo. From that last pic you posted, the finish looks really nice. You called it a "hard candy" finish and that seems like a good name for it. Looks durable but not the ugly "bed liner" look.
BTW, the website is shaping up nicely. Looks more professional than some of the big guys. Nice job!
