So, with this room, it's 15x17ish.

The VTF15Hs are going to be gone and incoming are dual SB13 Ultras. Question is, should they go where the HSUs currently are or should they go more in the corners to the left and right of my L + R channels? These are the only two places I have room for them.

If I were you I would place the SB13 Ultras in both positions and use the one that sounds best.

Front corner and opposite rear corner. Symmetry and subs don't usually sound the best.

Try the REW room simulator.. I used it for my room which is rectangular as well and its results were fairly close to those obtained by measuring with the UMIK-1.

Try to use REW and a mic to see what look best. Just curious of why a pair of sb13's over your vtf15h's?

When WAF is involved, forget about the best placement and go for symetry, else you could put the MAC where the right sub is and place the sub further to the right, this way you wont have the same nulls in the room.

Is having them where the VTF15s are now going to be bad?

Only one way to find out smile.gif

If you have a square room, and putting one sub say 5 feet from the left produces a null in the center of the room, putting a second sub 5 feet from the Right would ALSO produce a null in the center of the room.

So, now I'm thinking one in the front right corner and try and accommodate one in the back left corner. Is that better than the current setup? It's not perfectly square either. Where you walk in the room there is a 2x4 entrance. Does that make a difference?

Right now were just guessing, measurements OR testing by moving the subs would be the only way to truly determine the correct subs position
