let's say, if i set it in ported mode (16hz), is it sounds good with the music ? or it's not an accurate sub for the music, as i saw an opinion few posts before ? confused.gif

The vast majority of music won't see any difference between ported or sealed. Most music bass lay above 40 Hz. Typical port tuning doesn't really affect too much above 40 Hz, at least for these subs which are mostly tuned to around 20 Hz.

if you go onto avf there's about two or three people harping on how much better sealed box subs. But they just happen to have own subwoofer company that build sealed box subs. Harping on how bloaty ported subs are, changing to this brand of sealed box subs resulted in much better sound.

No bias there, nope none at all.

I have changed from PC to SB but that's due to my room size.

Allen, you'll be fine with the PC12-Plus, that's a brute 12" driver (can't think of a better 12" driver as far as ID companies go...). And with the small footprint from the cylinder enclosure, add a second PC12-Plus down the line and you'll be gold biggrin.gif

Sure, SVS clamped the output to achieve that, but it is still one of the loudest subwoofers in the market and manages to hold the record for the highest 20Hz output of all commercial subs tested, with just a single 13.5'' driver being held back by its limiter. It is producing almost 111dB with just 5.1% distortion. For comparison, the FV15HP produces half the 20Hz output with more than 3 times the distortion (108dB at 17.7%), and that's servo controlled to reduce distortion. Most of the other subs are producing around 20% distortion while producing an output far less than the Ultra.

That's some great facts there LowerFE... yet, these facts tend to be purposely ignored by a certain group here at the forums (caugh, caugh.... Rythmic FV15HP owners, SVS haters) rolleyes.gif

Well even though this thread doesn't get much attention, I decided to post here. After a seemingly endless time trying to decide what subwoofer to get, I have finally decided on the PB12-Plus. It gives me the Piano Gloss Black finish I wanted and tremendous output and quality. Also, it is the most expensive sub I could possibly get two of, even though that will be some time later.

So my plan is to get one PB12-Plus next year (I'm still making payments on my TV, and need to save up for the sub), upgrade my speakers and receiver, then add a second Plus. I can't wait to hear (and FEEL) what I have been missing!biggrin.gif

So excited, but the wait is going to KILL ME!

I'm running a dual PB12-Plus in my ~2500sq ft sealed room and very happy with them. I originally thinking between the FV15HP & the PB12-Plus and probably read a dozen time of the Audiolcholic's shoot out. At the end, I've decided the SVS partly because of the finish (piano black) and the way they stand behind their products. Plus they've been around for so long, I'll have less chances that they might not around anymore in a year or two versus other smaller ID companies. Not saying ANY particular ID company, just I feel more comfortable dealing with some bigger company. Just my $0.02.
